Last time I made a baseball thread it died after 4 posts and I'm pretty sure I had at least two of those posts. I kinda figure this thread won't get very far since the community as a whole isn't very big on sports but I'm stupid. ?\_(ツ)_/?

Anyone interested? I'm rooting for the Cubs, but if we get eliminated I suppose I wouldn't mind seeing Texas win, mainly because I like Darvish and Beltre.

Cubs have a 0% chance of beating the Giants. The Giants win the World Series every even year and the Cubs haven't won the World Series in 100+ years. No chance for the Cubs.

I want the Blue Jays to beat the Rangers just because of how the Rangers were crying *****es over the bat flip last year.

I don't agree on the Cubs part. They were a very tough team this year. I doubt the Giants would get past the Cubs.

To be honest, the Cubs have been doing a lot better after many years of not doing well. The last time they won the World Series was in 1908, and the last time they made it there was in 1947. I was hoping that they will win because they can break the record. I would also like to see the Rangers and Nationals win the World Series since they never won it before (the Nationals didn't even make it that far either).

I know nothing when it comes to sports

I think sports in general is a lot harder to get into if you don't have a team to follow. Not to mention baseball can be kind of a slow sport.

Cubs have a much better team, but I wouldn't be surprised if we got eliminated this early. Less because of goats and even years and more because the postseason can be a bit of a crapshoot.

I wish folks weren't so cranky about that, I think it'd be fun if the MLB were more like the KBO when it comes to bat flips.

I would be very interested but my Mariners haven't made the playoffs since their record 116-win 2001 season, and I was only 7 then so I have no memory of that lol. To add insult to injury, they were eliminated from postseason contention in the final two days of the regular season in two of the last three years. Just once I would like to see my team in the playoffs...

I've always had a soft spot for the Mariners, mainly because of Ichiro. Hopefully he can get himself a ring before he retires, but knowing him he could probably still play into his 50s.

Ichiro is awesome.

I will root for the Cubs because as a Rays fan I love Joe Maddon and would like to see him win a title. If they don't win it all this year then they will soon. I just hope the Cubs fans don't turn into scumbag *******s afterwards like the Red Sox fans have.

After the Cubs, I'll root for the Indians. iirc Cleveland has the second longest championship drought behind the Cubbies.

next pick would be anyone new-- Rangers or Nats.

btw @Thunder, why do you like all the Chicago sports teams??

Yeah, that's the good thing is that even if the Cubs lose, they're a well-built team and will probably be back in the postseason next year. Unfortunately, you can't have a successful team without obnoxious fans piling on the bandwagon. It's especially obvious around the postseason, like that Jays fan who threw his beer can at Hyun-soo Kim.

Also when I was like 6 I just thought bears were the greatest animal ever. Wasn't very big on bulls, though.
