You always get 3 times the amount you planted, but you can't get more than 90k per tree.

Actually 30k is the maxium amount of bells you can get off a money bag in a bell tree. The most you can get is 90k. The odds go up by 0.1% for every 100 bells you plant.

Never plant 99k in ground with a gold shovel. The maximum of a bell tree is 90k...
And with each 1k you plant you get a 1% chance. So 30k is 30% of getting 3 bags of 30k, which totals to 90k. My favorite method is planting 60k, but so far, none of the 60k bell trees have produced....
