Moving Villagers Out

So I have spent the past two days going months into the future trying to move someone out and NOBODY has pinged me even once. I've tried the two day method and the day by day method. Nothing works. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if there's something up with my game.
(I'm ignoring the villagers I want out as well.)
Help?

Is your town new ?
Because you still may be under the tutorial mode. It means that no villagers will ask to come out until you're done with this game tutorial. You may ignore the villagers but in order to leave this mode, it's not the right thing to do. Go to them and speak to them. They will teach you things like sending letters, drop furnitures, fishing, how to landscape, etc. When they're done with this bla-bla, you can start hoping than some of them leave.

I didn't think about the whole tutorial thing.
I'm pretty sure I finished the whole advice for living here thing though, how long does it take to get out of the tutorial mode?

you'll know youre out of it when they talk to you about other villagers or just small talk instead of giving you advice on how to do stuff!

also instead of going forward months, go forward one day at a time. by the way, every time you go backwards, it just counts as one day, so 1 year back = 1 day.

I was doing it a day at a time I meant it was taking it months (in game time) and nothing was happening haha. Sorry for that!
And I realized I hadn't done the final advice thing from Isabelle so that's probably what it was

If you time travel so far into the future the villagers will ignore you (because you've been ignoring them in game time) and won't talk to you (or ping) until you interact with all of them again.
