Alrigt, I made it up to 30 entries on the StarFall Press. I'm 70 entries away from reaching the 100 entry mark. If I keep it up, I may get to 100 entries.
So far on TBT, it's been past nearly one month since I joined TBT, and I'm near getting 1,000 posts on my post count. I may had some trouble on this site before, but I didn't get a single infraction. I'm trying to behave well on this site.
Since it's October, my blog checkpoints will be more about Halloween and decorating for Halloween. Today, I will talk about a few ideas on decorating your Jack-o-Lanterns. I know there's a lot of strange carvings of Jack-o-Lanterns since they can have any shape, but I prefer carving faces on Jack-o-Lanterns. I'm going to give out a few tips on what you should try making.
Tip #1: Get a Funkin instead of a real pumpkin. Not only it is harder to find the best pumpkins for jack-o-lantern carving, but pumpkins rot easily. You can still get real pumpkins, but to do what I'm doing, I reccomend getting Funkins. They may not be real as they're much harder to carve, but at least you have no seeds to clean out as they never rot. I have a picture of what a Funkin looks like when carved.
This is my work I did on carving a Funkin.
Tip #2: To provide lighting, put in a glow stick immediately after snapping. It is not only safer than candles as a Funkin can't handle fires, but candles can only come in one color when glowing. I wouldn't say the same for glow sticks. Because of them, I can put it in any color light. Unfortunately, glow sticks don't last very long, so as long as you have enough glow sticks, you can keep the Jack-o-Lantern on, but don't do that forever. Just only on Halloween. Below are some examples of what it looks like when a glow stick is in (keep in mind that I turned off every light when I took these pictures).
Sorry if I didn't take pictures of them in the same angle, but that's the best I could do.
Tip #3: If not placed in a pitch-dark environment, try painting your Funkin once carved. It will look extraordinary like that blue light Jack-o-Lantern I posted.
I will post some ideas of what face to give, what paint you should use, and what color light should be put in. If my calculations are correct, that should result in 625 different combinations (don't worry about the nose. Focus on the eyes and mouth).
