Before I even review this event I just want to address the elephant in the room. This event has not changed from last year. Meaning that all the DIYS and Gifts you gotten from last year remain the same. There is nothing new added if you were expecting to get new stuff don't waste your time on this event if you're one of those people who played this last year. Now for those who never played this event before It goes like this.

Basically you will see a special NPC by the name Jingle who has appeared in past AC games. When you talk to him he give you a DIY for Festive Wrapping Paper and you basically need 3 Ornaments of each color to craft them since he needs only 3 pieces. When you do that then he will ask for you help delivering the presents. To be clear you do not need to wear the Santa Outfit like in New Leaf that used to be required, you can still deliver the presents no matter what you are wearing.

The rest of the event is just going around giving villagers gifts, then when you are done you get the bag taken away and Jingle gives you Toy Day Stockings and a Toy Day Sleigh. Lastly he gives you a DIY of a Gift Pile. You can do gift exchange but it doesn't matter what you give the villagers they will always be happy with whatever they get. Its not like in New Leaf where you had to guess what type of gift they want, here you can just give them whatever and they will be okay with it.

Overall, this event feels pretty lacking. I mean even if you did play the event last year its not really going to do much since you get basically the same stuff you got from last year. Also all those gifts that you get from your villagers are basically the Toy items you saw in the Nook's Cranny shop, but I find this pointless considering that you spent all month buying the toy items and not to mention you can rely on Cyrus at Harvs island to change the color for you. This event is okay if you're a new player and never played it before, but if you're a returning player and expected something new then you're not going to get it on this event. I will give this a 6/10 I know its traditional for AC to repeat events but honestly with the 2.0 update I was hoping they would've added new items to this event, but oh well. Have you played this event and what do you think?

I haven't replayed the event yet, but I wouldn't expect it to change from last year. There are a few new DIYs which I've gotten from balloons, and that's the most we can really expect. This is a busy time of year for a lot of people -- many won't even get to play the event because of other commitments and not time traveling.

I don't mind events repeating, honestly. I find I enjoy them more and can appreciate the finer details and atmosphere when I'm not worried about having to complete anything. Just having the music change and having a special npc around changes the mood.

The only small complaint I may have is the items chosen. I like them well enough, but I feel there's maybe more versatile items they could have gone with. For instance instead of the ornament garland, they could have gone with a multicolored or white fairy lights fence that we can use year round. The small ice snowman could have been different. A holly wreath/crown instead of an ornament crown would have made more sense. The giant ornament is cute, but doesn't really have anything to go with it. Just being nitpicky, though. The items themselves are nice.

I give it a 6 and that's probably being generous. I was really hoping for villagers or Jingle to give me Christmas DIYs as I haven't played much this month or December of last year, so I have almost no Christmas DIYs!!

It's cute giving out presents as Jingle's helper, but I don't understand why I gotta go around and give my villagers a second gift. I also don't care for the presents they give in return, as I've catalogued all that stuff already, but I suppose there's not much they can realistically improve there!

Side note, I kinda wish that it would snow for two or three days (23rd, 24th, 25th) if you're in the southern hemisphere. I think it would make it a little extra special. Although there is charm to a tropical Christmas.

I played it and found it kind of tedious compared to playing it last year when it was new, mainly because I was running around for a long time trying to find Moe, lol. And then after giving out gifts for Jingle, I had to run around to everyone again to give my own gifts. Also, I wish the Toy Day Sleigh were bigger. I tried making a display with it and the illuminated reindeer and they are huge compared to it, so it didn't look right.

So to make sure. There no 2.0 items or diy today? So I can skip today event?

This is the first year I played because I don't like snow so last year I skipped winter altogether. I didn't think of dressing up like santa, so the dialogues were pretty disappointing. Not very smart of me, I admit it. But still, it felt really lacking compared to other events.

I wasn't expecting to see anything different. It was a nice event as it was anyway.
On another note it is nice that we have more seasonal diys. Also it looks like we have a balloon arch for 2022. I wonder if they will continue to update the game for a while for the coming years since they are putting numbers on it. They could have left it blank.

The same diy’s were annoying but overall i loved being able to walk around my island listening to the toy day music hnding gifts out,

dont forget to hang the stocking jingle gave you in your house tonight!🎄

Jingle didn't even give me the DIY for the wrapping paper. Just gave me the Toy Day stockings and sent me on my jolly way. Maybe I'm not far enough along in my game? 🤔

But given how many times I did the Toy Day event in NL, it can be kinda tedious at times. Especially if there's no difference in the event from last year and this year.

EDIT: Turns out you need an upgraded RS to fully participate in Toy Day. I am so sadge right now

I'm rating it a 4 because its the same as the one from last year. Like I need another Toy Day sleigh when I already have 4 of them 🙄

as others have said, i didn't anticipate it changing from last year and it's similar to the nl event. i think it's cute dressing up and giving gifts! plus, it's not complicated so i don't feel pressured if i have things to do during christmas.

the DIYs though - v frustrating. i only JUST got the christmas tree DIY 2 days ago, and i've been playing essentially every day in december (as well as played some last year during this time). i wish they'd up the RNG or something to make it easier. i saved a spot for that dang tree all month x___x

yeahhh, i honestly wouldn't expect big changes for any of the holidays from here on out. this was the last free major update so unless they put out smaller updates just for the holiday events, don't expect anything different than previous years. past games were the same way, or at least new leaf was.

I love toy day. My day today was crazy long and exhausting so when I finally got home it was really nice to spend time enjoying toy day with my villagers. Second time playing the event on Serenity. First time on my second island Jurai. I found my villagers really easy when giving gifts from Jingle. In Jurai Dobie took so long to find when giving him my gift I had to save and load back up to get him to go to his house. On Jurai I made my villagers Frosted cookies.

On Serenity it is also Chadwick’s Birthday so he only got a Birthday present and no toy day present. Since Puck was celebrating with him he also did not get any toy day gifts. Kinda bummed for them. On Serenity I made my villagers frosted pretzels.

Its the same as last year...but its like that in every game. Honestly that's what I like about Animal Crossing. Its an 7 for me. I wish Jingle had made a note that you already had the wrapping paper and not waste giving another diy for it. Also I think he should have been the one to give the new winter ornament diys. Other than that I still liked playing it. especially giving my villagers the new 2.0 items.

I forgot to play. I got too busy tbh. I don’t remember it being as fun as New Leaf.

I haven't done it yet but I didn't expect anything new. It s weird the villagers give you the same items that are sold in the store all month, do they give different variations? If they do it doe make sense because when the game came out we didn't have Cyrus so the only other way to get variants was trading and not everyone can/wants to do that. I got all the event items last years but I'll do it again anyway. Idk if Jingle will give you the diys if you already have them but if he gives them to me I'll offer them here for free since I have them all.
