I'm just a ghost.
Before I even review this event I just want to address the elephant in the room. This event has not changed from last year. Meaning that all the DIYS and Gifts you gotten from last year remain the same. There is nothing new added if you were expecting to get new stuff don't waste your time on this event if you're one of those people who played this last year. Now for those who never played this event before It goes like this.
Basically you will see a special NPC by the name Jingle who has appeared in past AC games. When you talk to him he give you a DIY for Festive Wrapping Paper and you basically need 3 Ornaments of each color to craft them since he needs only 3 pieces. When you do that then he will ask for you help delivering the presents. To be clear you do not need to wear the Santa Outfit like in New Leaf that used to be required, you can still deliver the presents no matter what you are wearing.
The rest of the event is just going around giving villagers gifts, then when you are done you get the bag taken away and Jingle gives you Toy Day Stockings and a Toy Day Sleigh. Lastly he gives you a DIY of a Gift Pile. You can do gift exchange but it doesn't matter what you give the villagers they will always be happy with whatever they get. Its not like in New Leaf where you had to guess what type of gift they want, here you can just give them whatever and they will be okay with it.
Overall, this event feels pretty lacking. I mean even if you did play the event last year its not really going to do much since you get basically the same stuff you got from last year. Also all those gifts that you get from your villagers are basically the Toy items you saw in the Nook's Cranny shop, but I find this pointless considering that you spent all month buying the toy items and not to mention you can rely on Cyrus at Harvs island to change the color for you. This event is okay if you're a new player and never played it before, but if you're a returning player and expected something new then you're not going to get it on this event. I will give this a 6/10 I know its traditional for AC to repeat events but honestly with the 2.0 update I was hoping they would've added new items to this event, but oh well. Have you played this event and what do you think?
