In the past ten minutes, my New 3DS shut down, Two. Times! Randomly! With no rhyme or reason.

The first time when I was putting it down. But the second time, I was holding it in my hand and it shut down.
The battery is fully charged, so the battery could not have run out.

Is the battery pack damaged and do I need to get a new one? Why is New 3DS acting like this?

How long have you had your N3DS? Considering it's happened twice, I would contact Nintendo customer support about it. They might ask you to send it in for repairs but it's better than having it continually shut down by itself.

This actually happened to my old 3DS XL a week ago, which led me to buy a New 3DS XL. But right now it seems to be doing fine. Maybe just let it rest for a day or two and see if it still happens?

It happened again today.

I have been googleling for anwsers. I heard that battery might be sliding away from the contacts and that you have to place a piece of folded paper to the battery agaisnt the contacts. Other says you have to clean the contacts with a flat screwdriver or clean the contacts with an eraser.

I just don't know what to do. I think placing a piece of paper against the battery, would cause it to catch fire.

yeah, i wouldnt risk it tbh it seems kinda dangerous.

idk, if it happens again contact nintendo support i suppose.

Well Nintendo recommends using cotton swabs for cleaning contacts so you could try that. I definitely wouldn't recommend using a screwdriver. :p
