“Assorted” Collector
So here's where we are. Our most recent game is Animal Crossing: New Leaf. What's one thing I like to do: collect furniture. In New Leaf, there are 37 furniture series, 12 furniture themes (excluding the Ski theme), 32 furniture sets (excluding the Patchwork set and Cardboard set), and several other collections (like the three I just mentioned about being excluded). I would like to have as many furniture series on display, but due to the lack of space (even if New Leaf has the most storage space in AC history), I cannot use all furniture series at once. That, and there are some that I do not like at all.
Today, I will start ranking all 37 furniture series. Remember, 1=best, but the first is the worst. Therefore, I will start out with No. 37. The different font colors tell what game it first came from, even if some were dropped out in Wild World or changed to "unorderable" in New Leaf.
That's all for today. I will rank the other 18 furniture series on Friday. If you like, feel free to comment.
Today, I will start ranking all 37 furniture series. Remember, 1=best, but the first is the worst. Therefore, I will start out with No. 37. The different font colors tell what game it first came from, even if some were dropped out in Wild World or changed to "unorderable" in New Leaf.
- #37 - Lovely Series - this was my least favorite furniture series to begin with back when I was 10 years old (when I started playing Animal Crossing). It's too girly, too ugly, and so stupid to look at. I wouldn't care if others like this series, but I certainly don't like it. Pink may be Kaylee's favorite color, but this furniture series certainly doesn't fit her interest at all. But I wouldn't support removing this furniture series in the next game. Just because I don't like it doesn't mean nobody else does. Besides, I hate seeing the producers dropping out furniture series like they did in Wild World.
- #36 - Kiddie Series - another theme I dislike along with the more girly themes are the babyish themes like the Kiddie Series. I like how colorful they are, but this looks more of a preschool theme to me. It would make a good toyland theme, but not a good theme for my tastes.
- #35 - Polka-Dot Series - this has to be my least favorite furniture series introduced in New Leaf. While the furniture pieces look good in structure and texture, the polka-dot design makes this furniture series another ugly-looking series. It's not that this theme looks better without polka-dots, but polka-dots are not a pretty pattern.
- #34 - Sloppy Series - although this is quite creative, it's not a nice furniture series for me. It looks like a total mess it really is. As I like to decorate my houses, this series will make my house look bad. Coincidentally, this is the hardest series to obtain (that's a fact since almost everybody can agree on). It's kinda funny that it's a popular series introduced to the game, even when I don't like it at all.
- #33 - Pavé Series - when I first seen this in the guide book for Animal Crossing: City Folk, I just started thinking that the Pavé Series is so unattractive. To me, it looks too simple with some decorations. It's also the least creative furniture series in the Animal Crossing franchise (no offense).
- #32 - Minimalist Series - we may be out of the bottom five by now, but we're still in the bottom ten. The Minimalist Series is too simple of a series. Not only that, but just the name totally matches the description. It looks unappealing to me.
- #31 - Gracie Series - this has to be my least favorite furniture series stocked at GracieGrace. This furniture series is very expensive. Not just expensive, but it does not look good at all. Why would you put a high price on anything that looks cheaper than the rest?
- #30 - Modern Wood Series - I like the Modern Series, but I do not like the Modern Wood Series. It looks too weird for me. To me, it looks like some puzzle-like series. Nuff said.
- #29 - Mermaid Series - this furniture series ain't part of my world. It's not that it's a bad series, but it doesn't look as good as the others.
- #28 - Princess Series - in case if you are wondering, the Fairy-Tale HHA theme is my least favorite of the HHA themes, and this furniture series best fits the HHA theme it's part of. I am not a fan of fantasy themes. It also looks too girly.
- #27 - Balloon Series - out of the bottom ten at last, but this furniture series doesn't float too high. It's still in the bottom half. I like balloons, but not the balloon series. Actually, I do, but I don't like them anymore than the balloons. At least this made shooting down balloons more fun. But when the balloon gifts drop, we get more balloons. Crazy, isn't it.
- #26 - Alpine Series - I like the Cabin Series and the Ranch Series, but the Alpine Series doesn't look as appealing. It's also not very creative, but at least it's not as bad as the Pavé Series. It also doesn't do as good of a job as the Cabin Series when portraying a winter house.
- #25 - Exotic Series - looks like we're back to investigating the Gamecube version introduced themes again. The Exotic Series looks pretty cool because it looks like a Japanese furniture series. However, it doesn't make it to the top.
- #24 - Snowman Series - this was the only special furniture series in the Gamecube version to make it up through all four games. I like the winter theme, but the Snowman Series is kinda weird. A snow series would be better, but I wouldn't have a furniture series where everything looks like a character in character form. It's just weird. It's also hard to get. The only reason why I have this furniture series on display in my town is because it's to fit the winter theme.
- #23 - Card Series - this is another of these toy-themed series in Animal Crossing. I think this is an okay series at best, but it's more of a C-tier furniture series. Sold at GracieGrace during the sales, it is the cheapest of the GracieGrace themes and the weirdest. The easiest furniture piece to make in reality out of this theme is the card tower, which is the least creative of the furniture theme.
- #22 - Rococo Series - this Victorian-looking furniture series looks pretty rich, but more 1800's to me. It's not as good looking as the Gorgeous Series, but it's not as bad. It's kinda interesting that this is the only furniture series sold as spotlight items.
- #21 - Regal Series - even if it's more simple than the Rococo Series, I am pretty nostalgic, and I am more for the Gamecube side of the equation when picking Animal Crossing items. This furniture series is kinda girly, but not the girly I can't tolerate.
- #20 - Sleek Series - this has to be my least favorite furniture series that goes under the Sci-fi theme of the HHA themes. It looks cool, but it's not the best taste I can get out of from Animal Crossing. It ultimately ended up in the bottom half, but it floats to the top.
- #19 - Egg Series - this is the last furniture series I'm going to evaluate today. And this is at the midpoint of this list. Although I don't like Zipper, I do like this Easter themed series. My favorite piece has to be the egg matryoshka. But the only flaw with that is some of the pieces don't look like they match the rest.
That's all for today. I will rank the other 18 furniture series on Friday. If you like, feel free to comment.
