Need help with home expansion

Hi, new to the game, so this might be a silly question, but I have looked through the forums and all over the web for help, but no use. I paid off first home loan and wanted to expand to 6x6 or 8x8, and He (Tom Nook) said expansion would be done in the morning and that he couldn't wait to see it. It's been three days (mornings) and still no expansion? Just need to know what I'm doing wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you been back to Nook Homes since? Does he say anything different now? Is there an option to expand again or have you still got to pay off the loan?

I go back a few times a day and he says the same thing (it will done in the morning, cant wait to see it), I have around 600,000 in the ATM, and never an option to pay anything off.

I know, very odd, Not even sure what Time Travel is, so no, nothing like that, just a lot of fishing and buying stuff. I bought the game for my daughter (but I love the game) so I get to do all the dirty work (earning cash) and she spends it, but we need a bigger house for all the gear. I just wasn't sure if there was some other requisite that I was missing to be able to expand the home, Is it possible that there is not enough space around my house to expand?

Tom Nook wouldn't have allowed you to build a house in the location if there wasn't proper amount of room for expansion. This is very odd, and as long as you paid your mortgage and told Nook to expand, it should have been done the next day. Hmm.

Would it be possible for you to post, word for word, the dialouge you get when you enter Tom Nook's shop and/or approach him and talk to him?

Time travelling is when you change the date or time on your DS to make it jump forward or backward in time in order to do things. I personally don't do it but I wondered if that might have confused Mr.Nook somehow. But if you're not doing that then I guess that can't be the issue!

I can't think of any reason why this might be happening. There are no other pre-requisites. All you need to have done is paid off your existing home loan and then ask Tom Nook to expand, it should just happen automatically the next day, at which point you can then start paying off the next loan.
