As the title says, I need someone to hold my stuffs while I'm rebuilding a town, for a reason.

Here's the deal. My town is apparently cursed with frequent crashes/freezes since the day I first made my current town. Most of them came from the fact that my wireless switch is on (most notably while playing online). Even with the wireless switch off, I still get some occasional errors while loading/saving on certain areas.
When I say "crash" or "freeze", I meant when the game locks itself and then either send me back to HOME Menu while forcing a reboot or stay stuck forever until I power it down. And those I often encounter can't be triggered via another glitch.
And the v1.1 patch doesn't seem to fix my problems ; it got worse. I got a bit more freezes within 1-2 days playing online, yet I haven't seen a single offline freeze. However, I'm not going to hold my breathe anymore, or else the stability would be still going downhill, possibly making my game even more unplayable by the time I get my North American copy of ACNL (that is if I will).

Since I've seen nobody reporting that much of freezes elsewhere in this game, I feel like that redownloading my Japanese ACNL and creating a new town would rid all of the issues. I'll try to make sure my SD cards are properly formatted as well while I'm in the process.

Here's what I want you to do, if you're willing to help me:

- Hold at least 180 items (feel free to catalog reorderable items if you need to save some space), and having at least one spare character with an empty locker is highly recommended

- Hold all of the bells I have (which is around 16 millions bells)

- You'll bring the stuffs back to me whenever I say I'm ready. It'll take at least 2 weeks, as I need to experiment my new town for a bit, just in case it would crash as often as my current town does

I'll drop you 300,000 bells as a reward once everything is done. Plus, you get an opportunity to catalog items you might not have owned as you pick up my stuffs. :)
If you're interested onto holding my stuffs, well simply post in this topic, and we'll try arranging for ideal times via PMs. All of the things that I would bring will be dropped in my town, so you can pick them up. I'll be saving regularly, given on how often my game would crash while I'm playing online.

I can do this, I think. I could make a dedicated character for you and save items on letters and such to help keep everything available for easy retrieval.

Bummer about your town crashing, hopefully resetting will make it more stable.

And no need for the money: being able to catalog is reward enough for me.

I can help as well, if you need more storage room. I can clean out one character's storage and transfer her items onto another character.

Oh: and feel free to say no to me and use someone else. My feelings won't be hurt. I know you can really only do online during weekends I work most weekends- but occasionally have Saturday off. So, perhaps linking up with someone else may be more practical?

But it still stands: I am more than willing to be storage. I know how much it stinks to reset a town.

Obviously I can't help you directly as I don't own the game but I want to mention that in the 3DS firmware update yesterday they added a Software Repair option in the eShop. Sounds like it would be perfect for your situation. You might want to look into it a bit more though, I don't really know the details.

EDIT: I just tried it out on my digital Brain Age copy out of curiosity. Basically it checks the files to look for any problems then tells you if there are any. (none on my Brain Age of course) It says that if you initiate the process it will redownload the software data but most importantly... "Your save data will not be deleted."

I think this would work for your situation. Unless of course you think your save data is the problem. But my understanding is that you think the game files are just corrupted somehow.

Hm. I'll consider trying Software Repair for ACNL first if I manage to find it tomorrow. If it doesn't redownload the entire game (i.e. the game may be fine), then it must be my save file.

For you guys waiting for my PMs, I'll be sending them after I properly tested my newly-repaired game. It may take a while if I get any crash.

It's at the veeeeeeeeery end of the Details page for New Leaf.

I'm also available if needed. I created my last character only yesterday and his storage is empty and is likely to remain so for a while.

Let me know.

I'm very happy to help you out.
My I'll make some more characters to store all your items in, then delete them once you pick them up/I deliver them :)

If you want any help, please drop me a PM :)

Welp. I tried redownloading the game via the "Fix Software" button, and my game still crashes. That happened when I was entering to my shopping district while some fellow was getting in Club 444 at the very same time. How comes this doesn't seem to occur on most other towns (even those who downloaded the game)?

Looks like my saved data was "poorly" written by the game when I first created my town back in November 9th 2012. I definitely need to rebuild my town, so expect me sending PMs tomorrow.

All I am to you is "some fellow"? :p j/k

My character is ready to go; storage is completely empty. I'm going to miss your villagers. ;_;

So, I just got a new town today!

What I exactly did is completely erased my game along with its data, then formatted my 4GB Lexar SD card with a proper software, redownloaded both the game and the patch, and finally made a new town.
At the very moment, I couldn't do much to progress further, since all of the shops are closed. So far, no sign of crashes, and I hope this will stay that way for the rest of my life. I'm yet to test online gameplay to see if it still crashes.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed! Let me know when I can come over to return things. I should be off work today at 5 pm EST.

I just got a crash in my new town while playing online for extended time, yet the v1.1 patch didn't solved it. And that happened during the loading part.
Seriously, I'm having such an hard time to pinpoint where all of these crashes come from, given the "finnicky" nature of the problem. Made sure that my SD Cards are actually reliable? I did it, but it didn't changed much. Restarted my town? Yes, but it still hasn't solved my problem.

Maybe it has to do with how my Japanese 3DS connects to Internet with ACNL being online? The game doesn't only connect to whoever you're playing with, but it seems like it has to connect to the Japan servers to enable certain features. Considering the current location I live in, the latency is significantly larger between me and Japan. And that's with a 500kb/s Internet Speed in average. For some strange reasons, the game doesn't like it, so much it may decide to crash at some point in an online session.

That doesn't mean I'll need to restart for another town, since the problem isn't caused by a defective saved data. Considering on how long I played ACCF online and never witnessed any problem, this is incredibly baffling...
