No but honestly, I bought a New 3DS a year ago because my original 3DS really needed an upgrade. I'm not really one for XL, so I would vote "I don't see the need" but I understand the convenience of XL and if I had larger hands or something I might have wanted that one instead. I just dislike the graphics being worse, since the screen is larger while the resolution remains the same.

By the way, since this has nothing to do with Animal Crossing, it should be somewhere else (in the Nintendo section or something, but I'm not too familiar with that section).
Its an alright system i'd say, the c stick is really good for super smash bros and does make it easier to perform smash attacks though on the downside if your hands are sweaty it makes it hard to use the c stick. And the zr and zl buttons aren't bad at all! They are a secondary use as the L and R buttons in smash bros but it feels more comfortable to reach and press though the con is that Nintendo didn't even think to make an update for older 3ds games to be compatible with them and same goes for the c stick. Now the thing I like about the Xl , new Xl and I don't understand why Nintendo made the original 3ds have cheaper L and R buttons, but the L and R buttons on the Xl and New xl are made a lot better. My original 3ds had the R button broken from me just using it in mario kart 7 but the Xl and new xl has better L and R buttons but its no excuse that Nintendo put cheap L and R buttons on the original. overall the "new" 3ds is an alright system, it does have a few cons but when you look past them it's not a bad system.
No, I don't see the need. The new 3DS XL doesn't have any really new features that make it worth buying (besides the larger screen), not to mention that the new 3DS's don't have any wi-fi switches, which are super useful for when you're dealing with trades with edgy or suspicious people. If I get another 3DS, it'll be another original 3DS XL.
I have a red one I got about a year ago!
I upgraded from the first 3ds that was super tiny. I personally love the screen size, it makes animal crossing look so nice.
I sold my regular 3DS a few years back. I never had the XL, so when the new 3DS was on sale for like $175, I got one. It's not so bad, but I would probably just stick with the regular 3DS XL tbh. I wouldn't "upgrade" to the new 3DS.
I have the original 3DS and certain newer games are so tiny on the screen that I can't play them... I can not afford an XL. My 3DS was a birthday present when I was like 17? I'm an adult now, I don't get birthday presents anymore Just some socks/underwear and maybe some gas money.
I just got mine for my birthday about two weeks ago and I love it! I had gotten the original 3DS (not an XL) five years ago and it was really showing some wear and tear. There was a big purple-ish blotch on the top screen, it was slow, the arrow pad was all chipped, etc. I'm really happy to have such a big screen now and actually being able to use the 3D is nice. Plus it's my first system that wasn't just the plain old original. It's Legend of Zelda! The only thing that disappointed me is that it changed to the micro SD cards so I had to get a new one. Otherwise, it's really great! I can understand why someone who already has a 3DS XL would be hesitant to upgrade to a new 3DS XL, but I personally love mine.
I don't have one but I want one, I might ask for it for my birthday actually. The only real reason why I want it is because I have the 3DS XL and when I was browsing the shop one time, I saw earthbound available on the shop - and i've seen gameplays of it it's really funny. Anyway I wanted to buy it but then it said it was only available on the new 3DS XL and I couldn't get it on my regular one, and although it's gone now i'm pretty sure there's a load of virtual console games i'm missing out on. Otherwise no, I wouldn't feel the need to update it, just a quite note though that maybe this is more suitable to brewsters cafe thread, where you can talk about anything off topic.
I own a New Nintendo 3DS XL, and I don't like it. It was a free upgrade, so I can't complain. However, I plan to one day buy the New Regular 3DS. I just wish Nintendo would stop making these pointless upgrades. It makes me very uninterested in upgrading if the first version isn't going to last me the entire console lifespam.
