I was thinking about how many new flowers, insects, and fish there were to catch in pocket camp and how it would be a shame for them to never utilize such pretty designs again.
So it made me wonder, what if in ac switch we get sort of an "explorer" type theme?

Nothing serious where you have to run around a huge free roaming map
But maybe after donating x amount of bugs, fish, fossils, and artwork to the museum blathers tells you about an interesting discovery he made surrounding legends of a mysterious town. How he heard about their different bugs/fish/flowers from a cousin who set out to find it years ago and sent a mysterious letter with only coordinates and his signature the other day. Too scared of the unknown bugs he asks you to go instead.
Not knowing how to read them you are told to ask a sailor (kapp'n) who then wanders the beach. After talking to him you have the opportunity to get in his boat the next day and go to the new town.
There waiting is blathers cousin who talks about how different it is there and how he wanted to make another museum/asks you to collect all the new species that vary season to season.
Maybe there will be special villagers there too and a little shop of course to buy event items from pocket camp or all new items?

Linking your pocket camp to your switch game could also trigger this event maybe.
I just want sakuraflies to be a thing. And to see all the event bugs/fish together

I really would like to explore different areas... Maybe have towns you could visit with different ecosystems (desert towns, jungle towns, etc). I think that would be neat and let everyone's towns have a lot more diversity and have cool new bugs and fish for us to get too.

That would be really cool!!!
Ahhh I really hope we get some sort of terrain or exploring options.

I would love to be able to explore the depths of outer space, different planets, jungles, forests, underground tunnels/ruins/t, deep sea ruins/towns, the clouds, inside the pyramid PWP, inside trees (and build treehouses in them), also caves would be cool to explore too. Also secret paintings that could lead to different worlds when jumped in (reminiscent of Super Mario: 64) Also maybe a secret room in your house that you can access like under your bed/under a floorboard would be cool too.

I always had dreams about exploring what's on top of the barrier hills or behind the waterfall/ or where the waterfall comes from and also the ocean

Same!!! I used to wish we could have a bridge going up another level or that back when we had gates in WW that we could go explore beyond there aside from visiting a town.
Maybe this game we will have more layers to explore!

They had the desert island escape minigame, which was kinda separate to the tropical island the player can visit, but not really. I hope we can visit other tour locations (if that's still a feature), like a jungle and a ski lodge perhaps.

Additionally, while very nonsensical I think it'd be very cool if we could visit the moon via Gulliver! It would be a cool callback to the old rumours that were going around when Wild World came out about being able to go into space if you shot Gulliver down enough times. I highly doubt it'll happen, though, unless the dream suite is expanded to let us visit special locations.

This is such a fun idea! I could even see the new bugs and flowers being used in an island tour sort of setting.
