I'M SO EXCITED!!!!! The Nintendo Direct on Pokemon this morning was AMAZING!! I was literally screaming omg!!!

There's going to be more story, more Pokemon to catch, new Legendaries, old Legendaries returning with GMAX forms, we will be able to explore Pokemon dens and explore the world with friends, new outfits, and more!!!

Pokemon Home is also coming out on Feb 2020!!! They didn't specify an exact date, but I'M EXCITED!!!!!

Dude I'm so excited to! I was so excited I stayed up all night- only to sleep in 10 minutes and have to deal with all the glitchiness of the livestream. At least they uploaded the direct fast so I got a chance to rewatch it pure!!

This may be the first fighting type that I look at Day 1 and say... "I love him." Honestly! Urshifu is genuinely kinda great, I'm for sure gonna evolve him into Rapid-Strike Style. And while I think Calyrex looks absolutely dorky, the Crown Tundra looks SOOO amazing!!! I can't WAIT to explore dens and, //gasp// GET LEGENDARIES!!! My Pokedex, as of June this year, ain't gonna be complete anymore!
And Galarian Slowpoke? Called it. I called the expansion packs tbh- the moment I saw the Wild Area the first time I remember thinking, "Huh, this looks like DLC territory."
Other notes so I don't make seventeen paragraphs: Lee's Snapback?! Marnie's outfit?! Lee's old mentor!!! Oh my god new rivals. Shield gets top hat lady! Pokemon Home hurry UP. Theyt menioned Platinum omg Sinnoh Remakes Confrimmed.

On top of that, though its far smaller news, Mystery Dungeon Remakes! While I would've preferred completely new ones- I also don't mind this in the slightest. Blue Rescue Team was amazing, and I honestly can't tell if I like it or Explorers of Time better, both are so so so good! Shame it comes out so close to ACNH, and I just sorta spent all my money... so uh- might have to wait for that one. The demo will keep me happy!

Okay okay, nerd ramble over. Probably not.

ITS NOT BECAUSE I ALMOST FORGOT ABOUT MAKING APRICORNS INTO BALLS BECOMING A THING

Didn't give a specified price for Home which is weird as it is coming out real quick, but since it is basically Pokemon bank 2.0, I'm expecting a subscription service around $5 a year for those curious.

Basically, it'll be extremely cheap.

I'm excited, but also bummed out about the cost. I feel like 30 bucks for an expansion is a bit too much.

Agreed. I can understand the price point being what it is considering the content they're adding, but I'd be a bit more comfortable with $19.99 instead of $29.99. Additionally, as someone who owns a copy of both Sword and Shield, I wish there was a bundle that combined both expansion passes which would save the customer at least some small amount of money. As it is, if I want to get the expansion pass for both games, which I do, it's basically like shelling out for a third game when the price for both is tallied up.

Looking forward to these expansions. A bit relieved they're coming later in the year though.

i haaate DLC, but lets be honest they could have charged anything for this and i still would have bought it. i love how the reveal for the expansion passes was shown with all the development art too - was a fun insight :)

I saw someone joke we're gonna get a gigantimax regigigas

I don't get why people are complaining about getting similar to two brand new Pokemon games at a cost of half the price of one.

Personally, I'm happy to shell out $30 plus tax rather than having to spend $60 on a brand new expansion game or even $50 when the game would be used like what happened with USUM.

I may wait on the expansion to see if they release a bundle of it that includes a free month or something of Pokemon Home, since there is no rush for me to get it straight away.

- - - Post Merge - - -

And isn't turning apricorns into pokeballs something from Diamond and Pearl so it's giving those who wanted remakes a small taste of goodness? Or am I thinking of the wrong game?

The expansion set is super cool, but what I'm really excited about is not only are they adding in 200+ previously missing pokemon, but they're available via a free update!!

No this kinda makes me want to get the game now, since the dex was pretty much the biggest reason why I dont have it yet.

For me, at least, I understand the price point and am just bummed about it, but since I own both I would appreciate a discounted combo bundle to save a few dollars like some other games do.

Apricorns and turning them into various balls is a feature from Generation II, so Gold/Silver/Crystal and their remakes HeartGold and SoulSilver. HeartGold and SoulSilver came out in Generation IV though, the same generation as Diamond/Pearl/Platinum.

I think an expansion pass is a much better way to go about it than a whole other game that would just pretty much be the same as the last one (Looking at you USUM). But I'm with some other people and I hope they do a bundle pack again since i have both copies. But either way I'd rather spend $60 instead of $120 on an expansion pack.

Omg, I love this update so much!!! I can?t wait for it! I absolutely love the new outfits at the Isle of Armor, and the opportunities that come with the Crown Tundra! This looks like a ton of fun and I?ll definitely be purchasing it.

Also, that Mystery Dungeon game looks really good! May be getting that as well, but we?ll see. :]

The Pokemon shown so far don't really look that appealing to me, Slowpoke in particular looking like the lowest effort alternate form yet, but I do look forward to seeing all the new additions regardless. I don't think it helps that they've mostly shown legendaries and I really don't care for legendary Pokemon. Moltres looks cool though, far better than the original design IMO.

I just hope this ends the trend of a third slightly tweaked 'definitive version' full price game (or since B/W, a third and fourth, because they realised people would still buy both...) rather than this being alongside of that. It'll be pretty crappy if 12 months down the line they release a 'third' game anyway. It seems unlikely they will, but I honestly wouldn't put it past them.

Next up: just get rid of the dual versions with the next game. Time to give us one full game and stop scraping the barrel trying to find menial ways to justify selling the same game twice, now with double dips on the DLC. I don't understand why the DLC couldn't have been a single purchase that works for both, at the very most just have different features enabled depending on which version of the game is actually being used. I hate that they'll try and double dip on pretty much everything they can and nobody will question it.

Honestly, I might quit the series if they stopped making third versions/sequels. I always find the additions and tweaks given to them make for a more enjoyable experience than the originals, at least in terms of gameplay. Crystal, Emerald, Platinum, Black 2, White 2, Ultra Sun, Ultra Moon? All far more exciting for me. I'm happier paying for those full price than I am with just adding expansion passes for everything moving forward.

I could definitely get behind this, but it goes against the trading aspect of the series and they'll never go for it.

Agreed.

The new content that gets added looks pretty good, although I actually still have to start playing Sword and Shield at some point, lol.

We're getting a Mystery Dungeon remake around the same time as New Horizons?
Mystery Dungeon comes out on March 6th, so two weeks before New Horizons. This year's March will be a pretty good one for people who are fans of both PMD and AC.

YOOOOOOOO I didn't set an alarm or anything about nintendo direct, I didn't even know it was starting, but I somehow woke up 10 mins before it started and I realized it was starting thanks to Twitter LOL So I hurried to see it and man I'm so glad I woke up just in time for the direct!!!!! I was literally screaming HAHAHAHA

IKR HE'S SO CUTEEEE omg, I still don't know which style I want to go for yet though. I also really love Calyrex!!!! I think he looks super adorable HAHAHA I love derpy critters <3 AND YESSSS I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO CROWN TUNDRA SO MUCH AAAAAAAAAA

YOOOOOOO I'M EXCITED FOR APRICORNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've never done that before so it will be a first for me!!!!

MY 2020 WILL BE EVEN BETTER NOW
SAMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Yeah ; v ; $30 is a lot of money, but at the same time I'm glad we at least get both of the expansions, Crown Tundra and the Isle one for $30!!! I think it'll definitely be worth if the story is really nice and such!!!

new Regi legendaries!!!
YESSSSSSSS I love those Regi legendaries!!! <3

SAME LOL LITERALLY SAME!!!! I'll still buy it because it's a game I really enjoy! I just don't like spending too much money HAHA but IT'LL BE WORTHHHHHHHH

Yeah, I definitely prefer them making a DLC instead of a completely new game that'll cost $60. I hope the story is fulfilling, long, and enjoyable!!!

Also I was against them taking like more than half of the pokemon out of the game, but now I'm re thinking and I think I actually like the idea LOL I've been shiny hunting a lot and I feel like it would have taken me ages to complete the pokedex if we had like 700+ pokemon to catch LOL

I'm really happy we are able to get 200+ pokemon back and for free too!!!

And YESSSSSS I'm not sure if the apricorns into pokeballs is from Diamond and Pearl, but I've never done that before so I'm really looking forward to doing it in this game!!!

The expansion set is super cool, but what I'm really excited about is not only are they adding in 200+ previously missing pokemon, but they're available via a free update!!

I completely agree!!! I really hope they do a bundle pack as well!! My bf as the sword copy and I have the shield, so it'll be really nice if we don't have to shell out too much!
