I think if I remember correctly if you have a high friendship with your villager they will sometimes give you fruit that is non native. I maybe wrong but I remember that being a thing in the original Animal Crossing GameCube version. I am not sure if its a thing in this game. I recalled getting a Pear on my island when I send a fruit (Peach that was my native fruit) to Molly in the mail. Again I don't know if this was later changed after the 2.0 update but thats what I know from 2020.
