The customization in NH is a dream, but a lot of the other elements of the game severely underwhelmed me. Mostly to do with villagers and gyroids. So I decided to play both new horizons and new leaf each day. Is anyone else doing this? just curious.
I'm not very far on NH, my switch friend code is SW-3988-5893-0188
I do understand your point of view, I miss a lot of NPCs, events, stores....but I don't have the courage to play new leaf because I don't have time to play both games but I wish I could play both of them ^^
I tried to play new leaf whilst playing new horizons.
But new horizons just have so many features and quality of life improvements that to be honest, new leaf is just kind of painful to play now.
Likewise I tried to play both when I first got New Horizons but I couldn't keep it up
I think I am going to be going back to New Leaf soon though because I am getting quite happy with my island so I don't need to spend as much time on it each day. I also really want to finish my New Leaf town because I was very close to being done decorating it.
i am rn!!! ive been playing new horizons since launch, i also play pocket camp (since launch as well) and my gf gave me her old 3DS XL so i could buy a copy of new leaf!! i dont have a job because of disabilities i have, so i have the time to play all three and it makes me very happy
though sometimes when im overwhelmed by terraforming i dont play anything
i try to play NL every other day alongside daily NH. i would play every day but i almost never have the spoons/energy (yay mental illness + chronic fatigue), and sometimes lack the time as well because i want to play other games or write/edit instead. i always aim to play NL at least once every 9 days to avoid villager move outs, but there have been several times where i accidentally didn't play for over two weeks and returned to find all my villagers still there, with the move-out request still being 10 days away, so i don't worry about that as much now.
I've been doing this with City Folk and New Horizons. The two games feel different enough that I can play them at the same time. Occasionally I check Gamecube as well, but I generally only have room for two Animal Crossing towns at a time, otherwise I burn out.
I did actually play some New Leaf the other day, after four months of not playing it, and I definitely enjoyed it, I just don't think I could go back to it full time as I'm absolutely loving New Horizons. I'm gonna try and play New Leaf more though
I was playing New Leaf up until very close to New Horizon's launch. I remember exactly why I was kinda over the game towards the end there haha. I pretty much focused all of my attention to fashion and my house because of how difficult it was to get my town looking nice. You'd put in all of this effort making nice flowers just for a villager's house to move right on top of it, spend ages trying to get a PWP from a certain villager just for them to randomly move away with no warning, finally get the PWP and have everything looking perfect just for a villager to move right in front of it and block the view (you can probably guess what my number one issue with the game was).
I do still play New Leaf every once in a while. I spent way too long on my house, and it looks awesome. The shops and items are nicer, I do love the island minigames, but I'm definitely having a LOT more fun with New Horizons even if I'm not as crazy about the items.
