New Horizons vs Older AC?

I know a lot of people have already compared New Horizons to New Leaf, but I think we can take it a step further, to get the full picture of how true to form New Horizons is as an AC game. Obviously, people can only compare NH to what they've played, but that's fine, just answer what you can. So, with that out of the way, lets compare:

- New Horizons vs New Leaf (Done to death, but why not).
- New Horizons vs City Folk.
- New Horizons vs Wild World.
- New Horizons vs Original AC.

Obviously, this will be highly opinionated, and opinions will vary. I'm not looking for the facts, just your personal opinion.

I've bolded my choices.

- New Horizons vs Original AC.

It really is too early to tell, but I love New Horizons so far and I am optimistic that many of the shortcomings some people have with the game will be fixed in the coming months as they release more content (I do understand their sentiments, though).

i’ve only played wild world and new leaf so i can only compare those two.

with wild world vs new horizons, i’d choose new horizons. wild world was a lovely game and is incredibly nostalgic for me and had great features to it but it was also a bit underdeveloped compared to the other games - it had none of the holidays such as toy day, bunny day, etc which kinda sucked but that’s my main complaint with it. however, with new horizons’ new features and outstanding quality, i’d choose the newer game.

new horizons vs new leaf is a bit trickier - new leaf was my favourite for years and it had so many features that i adored (swimming, dream suite, etc). i don’t know which one i’d choose as i love both games. i really want to choose new leaf for its amazing features but i also want to choose new horizons for all the new stuff that it offers. i think for right now, i’m a bit undecided lol

Honestly New Horizons, to me, surpasses all the AC games except for New Leaf. New Leaf was amazing and will really be hard to beat for me.

I'd like to think that means you'll end up preferring New Horzions when/if they add more features.

I think in terms of the liberties (plot choice, villagers not moving without word, terraforming) and graphics that New Horizon will be the best.

I think in terms of villager personality Gamecube will always have the greatest memories for me.

Can't really comment much on holidays/events yet since we haven't seen majority so far.

I'm pretty optimistic for New Horizons that will bring future updates, I had my doubts on New leaf because what I liked the most was the fact you could work a lot more your town with public projects but New Horizons has a lot more to offer in that area. Things I miss are the Dream suit, Club LOL and the Island mini games. Hopefully we will get such features through DLC (Leif is back!!!)

definitely - once more features get added, i can definitely see new horizons being my favourite ac game

- New Horizons > City Folk.

- New Horizons < Original AC.

Nothing will ever beat the nostalgia and special place the original holds in my heart. It's a classic. New horizons, I can see it being an absolutely wonderful game once the right stuff gets implemented. I am excited. If I were to order the games best from worst:

Original AC
New horizons
New leaf
City folk
Wild world

(keep in mind I ADORE them all)! There will never be an animal crossing game I do not support/purchase.
