Realized I've basically been doing this.
*No Time Travel
*No villager trading/selling
*No purposeful resets
*No ignoring villagers

Anyone else doing something similar?

That's how I play, it's up to the individual to do what they want with their own game but I see things like TT as cheating, I know it's not but I want to experience the game and the things as they happen. Would never get rid of a Villager either, even ones I dislike that say they are moving I try to convince to stay !

Also When I visit other towns that are further along in the game to me I won't enter certain shops / buildings that aren't yet available in my game because I want it to be new and interesting when my game gets there, ie. if I get to someone's town and their shop is upgraded further than mine I won't enter....probably a bit strange but there ya go !

Huh.
I do all of that, except for the no trading and no ignoring thing. I didn't even know this challenge existed.

i wanted to do that at first; but i quickly learned that having random villagers moving in and ruining spots made the game un-enjoyable for me.

so rather than waiting and disliking the game; i did things that helped me keep loving the game :p

It seems silly to compare those conditions to the conditions of a Nuzlocke challenge. Nuzlocke is above and beyond how someone normally would play the game, while those rules are just standard fare for most AC players.

I always hear "Nuzlocke" as "this player thinks they're bad*** and considers this the only 'real' way to play." So I definitely wouldn't care to play like that with my NL game. I time travel all day and don't care what people think of me for it. I don't trade or sell villagers, but I'm definitely not judging those who do. Same with people who reset or dupe items. Now, if you're going to try to push one way to play, I'll push the way I play, but that's only if you do it first. :p Basically, I think anyone should play however they feel like playing. That's the real fun in games like this.

All the people I've encountered that have done Nuzlockes, did them because they wanted a bit more challenge and/or wanted to spice things up. None of them thought it was the only real way to play. Same for anyone doing a playthrough using only one Pokemon, a team of Rattata, a team that all share the same type. It was all for fun and not to feel superior over other players.

Back to Animal Crossing, I have been playing in a similar way to OP. I just take whatever the game gives me (no resetting for villagers, house placement, no TTing) and make the best of it. I don't feel how I play is superior to others though. It's just the best play style for me because it forces me to be less perfectionistic/impatient.

The only one I'm doing is No ignoring villagers since I like to keep everyone on high friendship (Except Violet, ewgoaway)

But I kind of stopped the whole villager trading for myself. I'm only do it for a bit to get a hamster for my sister xD Before she kills me.

I compared Pokemon Nuzlocke to this way of playing AC because nuzlocking is slightly 'realistic' because you don't revive your KO'd 'mons. while this isn't the only requirements for that, the idea translates to AC a bit bc i've heard people that don't TT say theyre playing naturally. /shrugs

i did this because TT took the fun out of it, and i didn't bond with the game.
