New Members, if you're looking for someone to hang out with here are some tips:

1. Get to know some people - You can't just walk in here and without anyone knowing you ask for their friend code, nobody will trust that, if you wish to go to someone's town, you'll have to get to know them so that they can trust you to go.
2. Meet Other new members - We get loads of newcomers every week, get to know these people, you'd be more likely to go to another new members town vs someone who's been here for a month... it just somehow works that way, i honestly dont know why.

:p
3. Stick around! - This is probably the most important thing you should do to get friends here, Stick around! You simply cannot expect to have everyone add you ten minutes after you arive on the forums, then never return, we've gotta get to know you before we can trust you enough to come to our towns... its unfortunate that we cant all trust eachother, but some retards get their jollies turned on by screwing up other peoples towns.

Some general things you should know about Friend Code Sharing:

1. Shifty People - With every batch of newcomers that comes here, there will always be a few bad eggs, its bound to happen, people that join pretending they want to be your buddy, but instead go to your town, throw a few strange items around (Dropable Rocks, The Museum :|, flip your gate around, etc.), and leave laughing their pants off because they just destroyed your town in seconds time, anyone that seems a little... off should be reported, we can deal with them pretty quickly.

2. Strange Friend Codes - If you see someones friend code that looks a little strange... its almost always a little more than that, friend codes such as "101010101010" or something of its likes is NOT a normal code, it is obviously an AR town, do not be so stupid as to instantly go to their town, or even worse, let them into yours... chances are they'll molest you. : \

3. Scams - Someones offering you the full mario set, a metroid, and the Pikmin item, all for 10,000 bells? sounds cheap right? well it is, and should not be trusted... things like these are usually used to lure unsuspecting newcomers into their town, or letting them in so that they can destroy your town. Dont trust it.

Keep these things in mind before you ask for a code, or give one out, it could have your game file, and in the process, help you have a better time here at The Bell Tree.
