Hi, I'm new. Until today I didn't think about looking for an Animal Crossing forum. When I started playing May 2020 I told myself to try not to look up hints/secrets/forums on the internet. It's been a lot of fun that way. There's only been a few times where it hasn't gone well. For instance, I thought Raymond's manic behavior towards me and everyone was happening because I was playing the game wrong. I eventually kicked him off the island because he was upsetting everyone. I thought that if I didn't kick him off the island that I would somehow 'lose' the game. So I ran that dude off the island. Later on I found out that he is one of the most sought after characters because he's a high strung business cat with weird David Bowie like eyes. Woops.

Anyways, I look forward to checking out your islands and thoughts on the game.

I hope you enjoy it here! I love the way you chose to play ACNH! Was it your first Animal Crossing game?

I'd love to know if you used any online features, like the Design Portal to get designs? Or did you make designs yourself?

New Horizons is my first AC game. I literally had no idea what it was. All I knew was that people were really excited for it and I had a lot of time on my hands. Early on I came to really enjoy Tom Nook. He's so shady and yet, sincere? His whole enterprise seemed really off and I came to think of the game as an elaborate satire on Capitalism. Nook cracks me up so I named my island, New Tanooki. In my dreams I would love to play a family friendly GTA game where you play as Tom Nook going to the big city to swindle investors and find love in all the wrong places.

Anyways. I have used the design portal and I rely on it a lot. There is only one design I had to google on the internet because I couldn't find something I liked on the portal. I've only designed my town flag which is a Mario tanooki in the statue pose. Currently trying to change my town song to 'Hey Jude', we'll see...

Welcome to TBT! Your AC experience and insight about Tom Nook is absolutely hilarious to me, I have always thought that it's weird how in order to make money, you basically just get Nook's money and give it right back to him so you can afford a better house

your story reminds me of how back in like 2008 I had Biff as one of my starting villagers in Animal Crossing on the gamecube, and I was playing as one of my extra players (not my main one) and I think Biff was already angry when I accidentally hit him with a net. he turned around and basically told me to gtfo of town so what did i do? i deleted my entire character, as if he had in fact "moved out." i took the game to heart as a child lol. I still hate Biff to this day
