Hello! I am Pidge, but you can call me Idiot or anything you want! :]

I have heard of Animal Crossing for a few years, but never bothered to really look into it. I decided to start playing Pocket Camp when it came out, but gave up within a week. My friend re-introduced Pocket Camp to me in February this year and I got absolutely addicted. I am loving the game and am still happily setting up my camp, camper, and cabin!
I really wanted to get New Horizons, but I didn't have the funds for a switch or the game, so I just watched as all of my friends got the game and played. I was so confused about everything they said, because I never played any of the games besides PC. BUT!! Today, my sister told me she is going to buy me a switch and ACNH in 2 weeks as an early birthday present!! I am so stoked. So. Stoked!!
I started doing some research and getting tips from all of my friends who play and ah. Everything sounds so fun and exciting. I cannot wait to make my island all cute and stuff. I am hoping to go for a super cute natural and cottage core themed island haha.

I joined Bell Tree Forums recently to learn more about the games and see how the community was!

I like a lot of characters and think so many of them are absolutely precious!!

ALSO! So there are like etiquette rules or whatever that I've heard about?? Please explain. I'd hate to accidentally upset someone haha.

I am here to get tips and such for the game and just information about it! I am also hoping to make new friends for the game!! I have a lot of friends already that play, but I'd like to expand and meet new people. Also, any tips on how to give my island in ACNH or camp in ACPC a more cottage core aesthetic would be really nice!! And tips for The Bell Tree Forums too! :]
I am really accepting and open-minded, so please let's be friends. I'm here if you need anything!! <3

I think Dotty and Ketchup are my favorites! I really adore all of the villagers on my list and I'm excited to have some of them on my island.
 
The forum is pretty lax, I just stick to the basics of respect of no cussing (kids play animal crossing), drug talk, anything weird or sexual etc. Respect everyone when trading, no scamming blah blah. The BIGGEST thing is when trading or having a convo with someone on a thread, PLS like their comment so they get notified you have acknowledged / responded =) other than that its pretty simple and they have threads of rules if you wanna read those too! But welcome to the forums! The forum here makes animal crossing 3x more fun~ Welcome ~

Hello and welcome! I have a big tip for you for your island once you get it! It’s all about pre-planning. It might sound weird, but you should always put the villager's houses and stores where you want so you don’t have to move them in the future. As for making your town nice, there are a lot of people here who can help you get items and DIYs to make your town the best I can be! Lmk if you need anything, I'm really good at pixel art in NH so I condo any signs or flag (That's like my only asset to my game other than terraforming ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )
 
Welcome to TBT!! I know a lot of people have already offered but im also here if you need any help, TBT-wise or ACNH-wise!!
Definitely like others have said, if you're super into making your island perfect put all of your stuff on the beach or at least out of the way until you unlock terraforming and can put things exactly where you want them. You end up spending millions just to move each building once or twice, and for starting players that can just be bank breaking.
This is a given but be very careful about scammers if you plan to be active in discord. On TBT its not really an issue, ive never come across a scammer and there's a rating system anyway (oh yeah, whenever you trade with someone in-game its normally kind to leave them some feedback!). BUT if you do go beyond TBT, never engage in big trades (e.g for villagers or things worth a lot) with 2 people on an island at once (one of them can leave and save the game, its a well-known scam) and dont give anyone best friend who isnt a friend (thats kind of common sense but a lot of people seem to not know this lol)
Some of this may not make sense now since you dont have the game but it will soon!

Pre-planning, got it! I'll keep that in mind.
I've heard a little bit about DIYs from friends, but they still confuse me haha, but I'll make sure to remember those and learn about them.

Oh wow all of this was really helpful!! I remember my friend telling me about the 'saving game and leaving' scam which sounds absolutely awful!! I'm wary of scammers, so I'll definitely stay careful. And the rating system seems really cool and helpful so I'll keep an eye on that as well.
I am definitely into making my island perfect haha so I will use that tip of yours!
