I've just started playing AC this week and was wondering if someone would allow me to find some new fruits for my island as I haven't been able to find any apart from coconuts when I have been to deserted islands.

You have to go to your airport and say you want visitors and choose that you want visitors and follow the prompts until they give you a code. Then PM it to me so only I can come.

You're welcome. Enjoy the game. This is a very kind in helpful community that will make it even more fun, but try not to get too much help and ruin the beginning part of the game when you're learning everything! That's how I feel anyways . I find it fun to do as much as possible on my own, but there are some things you need help with or you can't do them!

I didn't think I could get fruits from the deserted islands as I have been about 5 times and every time it's peaches and coconuts! I've just learned how to be able to swim too

I'm new too day 4 for me and it was like my 5th random island before I found peaches, I have apples natively on my island.
It helps that my wife and a friend play as well and we started together we fed each other the different types of trees so we have 3 different types so far

Well, you're right! You can generally only find your native (peaches) and coconuts on the islands. There's one type of island where you can find one other type of fruit, your rare fruit. All the others you'll have to get through trading But then you can plant them of course and they'll infinitely respawn on your own island.
