A bit more of information about Private Matches: rest assured that your points and ranking won't be affected when playing in this mode. Also, you can set a 4-digit password in your private lobby so you can finally have control on who can join in yours. No more random friends or strangers interrupting your private lobby like Mario Kart 7 and 8 could.

If your talking about squad battles and not private lobbies, yes.
