Between 2013 and 2017 I was very active on the Villager Trading Plaza giving away and occasionally selling villagers. For the most part, the people I dealt with were appreciative and courteous. There was the odd rude person but they were few and far between. That is no longer the case.In the past year or so I have encountered more rude, privileged and unappreciative people on the Villager Trading Plaza than in the four years when I was much more active.People post that they are seeking specific villagers,I respond and offer them a villager(usually for free) and they say "I'll get back to you" and they don't.Many times they just flat out ignore my post or PM.Another thing I've noticed is that I'll be the first person to respond to someone's posting of a villager request and other people will post after me offering up the same villager without respecting the fact that I had already responded before them. It's like people are tripping over each other just to give away villagers. It didn't used to be like that. There was a lot more respect and decorum in the past.So what happened to the people here?I haven't noticed such a drastic change to the people on some of the other websites where villagers are traded like Reddit and Gamefaqs. So yeah,I won't be active on the Villager Trading Plaza any longer.

I think it's influx of new members, both as askers and offerers, who are more than likely younger adults/teens, (my generation is mostly human dumpster fires) who are rude, privileged, ungrateful etc.
And most of these members are on for a week then disappear. I'd say mmmm maybe 2/10 new members stick around after 2 weeks
I've noticed that we've lost over half of the good old members, I was hoping they'd turn up at the announcement of NH but no dice yet.
What grinds my gears, is when someone requests a villager, then afterwards requests the same villager in 2 other threads and maybe in their own. and their request is only half an hour old.
Them: Can I have Boris?
Me: sure, give me about 12 minutes to get him ready.
Them: ok
*15 minutes later*
Me: Ok, I have Boris ready for you.
Them: Yeah, I don't need him anymore, I got him from so and so a few minutes ago.
Me: ok, enjoy. >you weasel<

Now, it is not the other cyclers fault, they didn't know (probably) that they requested it from me.
And someone's probably pulled the same thing with me on them.
So it's kind of a wash as far as I'm concerned.
But it's like, "can't you just wait for a few minutes, no one's going to suddenly show up in your town, I promise."
But I enjoy giving villagers away, I've just learned to just not take any bad elements personally.

Yeah,I agree...a lot of good people have left this place and I've noticed the influx of "temporary" members too.I'll still be giving away villagers from time to time but not here.

Very respectable decision. I can't relate to giving away villagers and all as I've never done it, but I have asked friends for some. If they say "Yeah wait until tomorrow" then I try to wait and hope no one moves in. No need to be rude to someone that's being nice and helping you out, free of charge. Hope you meet some nicer folks

Ik what you mean. I respect it. I did months of research on here b4 joining, and these people sometimes can be rude. Ps. Awesome blog, awesome writer
