Once online play and WiiConnect24 are discontinued within this game and ACWW, I forsee a sudden crisis in the game's economy. And I'm sure I'm not alone in this, since it's really common sense to anyone who understands capitalist economics.
The end of online play would universally mean the end of trade- And trade, whether legitimate or hacked/duped- Is essential to the common economy of this game. After all, to be able to trade items that cannot be gotten from the catalogue, or just to be nice, means that wealth is generated in both towns, by both parties. The destruction of trade, even by mail in-game, would mean that the economy splits into millions of nanoeconomies, whereby the economy only exists within one game.
As such, I predict that the game's economy, without giveaways or trade, will mean that people will have to turn to ACToolkit and Action Replay to compensate for the loss of trade. This in itself would bring the already hyperinflated economy in the game to crash, since everything will be worthless, and the net export product staying in that town will make even a golden axe worthless in that town. In other words, megahyperinflation that cannot be rectified.
What are your thoughts on this?
