No special requests?

I have been trying to get special requests in June and July, but I have kept getting the same message:
"The access point are you are currently connected to is not distributing any special design requests."

Can I can only get them from a Nintendo Zone spot now?

I used to get them from my home connection.

Unfortunately, special request distribution has ended.

Qwertt111 is right, neither Nintendo Zone, nor your internet will work, they've ended it, just like those gifts in New Leaf. If it's any consolation, you can use amiibo cards to get the furniture the characters would have given you if you missed it from someone who has it.

I'm pretty sad about this, since I stopped playing this game for a year, and only got back into it once the requests ended. DX I hope they release Amiibo cards of the DLC characters so I can make their houses... I mean, I don't see why they wouldn't, considering the update that's coming out for New Leaf soon. :0
