No Wii Hard Drive for now.

Oh my... I still can't believe they wouldn't make an external hard drive with all the talk about new channels, and especially with the tons of VC games out there. <_<

How exactly does the VC store content?
It puts it on the puny 512 MEGABYTES built-in the Wii.

>.<

The only people who'd ever need one are people who download tons of VC games.

You take songs off of an IPod? No you just get one with more space and add more songs. It SHOULD be the same principle with the Wii, you have a large ammount of space so you just play whatever game you want at your leisure.

The thing about the iPod with a huge amount of space is that most of the people who buy it probably buy it because they can and they want to show people that they are better than everyone else. :gyroidtongue:

I know people with around 60 VC games... I know one guy with a 100. Yes, that is insane, I agree, but a hard-drive is going to be an necessity for EVERYONE with WiiWare and stuff...

and as for the 160 gig... it's probably for those that really need it for video. Videos DO take a lot of space... 0_0

I'm kind of sort of siding with Nintendo since he has a point you can just delete the Virtual Console Games when you get bored of them that way you can have room for new ones that are downloaded. After all you can get them back by just redownloading them...It's pretty much the same as an iPod as he said. And lets not forget that Channels can also be deleted and then restored with no extra cost since they are available for the life of the system. Although this is a tough issue to debate on so there are some gray areas.

I have 63 VC games as of today. I wanted to play Golden Axe, but I was currently playing Sin and Punishment, Super Mario Bros. 3 and Paper Mario and most of the other games I had on my channels at the time I was wanting to play at some other time in the day. That would have to cause me to delete and re download a poopload of NES games or just 1 N64 games which I often play, quite an inconvenience especially considering after I deleted Mario Bros. and Punch Out and I was done beating Golden Axe for about the 21st time, I had a serious urge to play Punch-Out, so then I have this dilemma ever weekend when its cold, or when I have no homework after school. With a hard drive I could download all of my games and play them when I wanted to at my convenience.

Disclaimer: I buy Wii Points pretty much whenever I get the money. Retro gaming FTW.
