What's the point in non-giftable collectibles? What if you're a collector who's soul shall not rest in peace without collecting all TBT collectibles? Exaggeration.
What if you're like me and want to get an emote sprite from Jen's shop, but non of the collectibles she wants are giftable!!? (Yes, get over it Yui!)

I guess there's the argument that they'll be rarer, but maybe some users would rather sell them to someone who actually wants them.

What do you think of non-giftable collectibles? :)

I don't like them but i think they're there for a reason. Trophies for example shouldn't be given away and etc.

The Ancient Lantern however...

The thing is not everyone who wins a trophy even wants said trophy and then they are stuck with them while people who may like to collect things may not be talented enough to win them. It's a lose-lose for something like that.

And you can't really say one is bad and say the other is okay--Ancient Lantern was just for those who solved a puzzle afterall. (Something I'm personally much better at versus art)

I suggested the Easter Token being given to everyone who found all 22 eggs (since the only "special" prize otherwise was the Golden Egg), but was denied </3

Awww, if that had been approved I'd have gotten one :/

yes its dumb

sharing is caring and gifting is uplifting what are you trying to teach us, tbt, by not allowing us to gift and uplift

"tbt is a dictatorship" -jake over getting an infraction for abusing the report system

where is our FREEDOM, TBT

WE WILL NOT REST UNTIL WE ACHIEVE

FREEDOM

This is entirely my opinion, but I think all collectibles should be giftable except trophies. Trophies are more special in contrast to birthstones. It is a proof that you invested your time on the forum, that your talent has been rewarded. Money cannot buy everything. Yes, some people don't give a damn about it, and others really want them for the prestige, for collecting...
But when you get a trophy, you usually don't sell it, I'd find it absurd. In real life you wouldn't do that. I find it hard to imagine someone who won an Olympic medal sell it or give it away. If you want a trophy, you got to work for it.

I think certain collectibles like the trophies should stay non-giftable.
But other collectibles such as the ancient lantern/scroll or the rainbow feather(I think its un-giftable, right?) should be made giftable.

This is understandable, and in a way I actually agree. Nobody would sell a trophy in real life, because it's something they've (usually) worked hard for. Although, I do see medals and stuff on Ebay. :p

On the otherhand, real trophies are different than digital ones. I can think of a bunch of sites and games where people sell them--especially if they get multiples because they are no different. Getting rid of them is one of their main sources of "income" essentially.

At the very least birthstones should have unlimited gifting. I don't see any reason to be giftable once, I can understand having only one which should be implemented for other things (or at least a limit) to prevent hoarding, haha.

They can be gifted unlimited times--it's just that nobody can have more than one because they are unique. So you wouldn't be able to gift one to me (because I have one already), but you could to anyone who doesn't and they could gift it to anyone who doesn't and so on and so forth. Just nobody can have more than one of the same birthstone on them.

Actually, I can understand the birthstones one per person thing. I wouldn't be too bothered if it were possible to own more than one, since I don't feel the need to have more than one collectible.

Doesn't the 'gift' option disappear once it has been gifted once?
I was going to buy a September one few months ago from someone else, and I don't own any and I have never owned oone, the person who got it gifted couldn't regift it as the option wasn't there anymore.

Are you sure it's not a mod thing, haha. I've heard this from another mod as well, but I can screenshot my inventory now and the birthstones I was gifted no longer have a gifting option available. That is what I mean by birthstones having limitations to how often you can gift. Or am I doing something wrong, haha.

Birthstones may only be gifted one time. I may buy a birthstone from the shop and gift it to Poison (if she doesn't already have it). But Poison may not gift it to anyone else. ..

(I feel like you're enjoying my name change more than others, haha) See, that's what I always thought, but there are a few people who insist it can be traded more than once so I'm just curious where this misunderstanding comes from.

oh I am Poison Party! I've had players gift me birthstones just because they knew I couldn't regift them.. It's also why I am not overly fond of the birthstones. Maybe at some point in the past you could regift them multiple times....

Oh my god, that's the perfect idea for you! Nevermind, don't change the birthstones, haha.

You might be right about that, so we'll possibly change that. Currently, you cannot re-gift them.

Trophies, however, are not collectibles, they are more like badges won from winning something, which is why you can't give them to someone who didn't win it. There are also things like the golden egg, which is kind of a hybrid. Although the first person to 22 eggs could get it, it's more of an optional prize, not a trohpy. So that's why the golden egg is giftable. The first person to 22 could get the 3 other eggs instead if they wanted to.

Yeeeah, I don't think the birthstone is supposed to not have unlimited gifting. It's unique in that you can only own one, but there isn't supposed to be a restriction on how often you can glitch it.

Jeremy - Then it shouldn't appear the same way collectibles do :p
