I don't use nookazon very much and until recently hadn't used it for a few months. I went on there looking to buy a diy and there are so many ads now the site is getting impossible to use. First I have a constant pop up in the lower left corner(if I x it out it comes back after a while). The worst part is when I click on someone's make offer button I am often redirected to a full page ad and no matter how I try I can't make an offer. So not only is it annoying for someone trying to buy things but it may prevent people from being able to sell things if we can't make an offer. I get that they want the money from the ads but it's out of hand. Am I the only one having these issues with that site?

Same here. There’s a video ad that keeps popping up and making it impossible to use the site. I used to go on there all the time, but I stopped mainly because of the annoying ads. Maybe someone can recommend an adblock to use.

Its ridiculous. Sometimes I wind up with stripes across the page while the ad blares amd I scramble to find the x to close it out. And I've found myself backtracking from ad sites more times than I can count.

yeah, it started some months ago because of the service they use to host the website. they too were very angry about it because they used to be even bigger

i use it on my phone browser (the app is pretty...ehhhh) and ive had ads that have crashed my entire webpage and caused me to restart

I use ublock origin in chrome and firefox. It lets you whitelist some sites too, if you don't mind seeing ads in particular places.
I was going to post this! I use it on everything, and make sure my parents use it too, but I unblocked this forum because I want them to get their money! It's super easy to install, and it keeps you and your computer safe. Not sponsored, though I wish I were.

Highly recommend if you plan on using the site you get an adblocker.
Just from what I'm hearing it sounds inevitable that someone gets a virus from there given they seem to have fully redirecting ads. That's always a major red flag.

Also recommend anyone who has visited to run a virus check for adware. If you start seeing more ads than usual on other sites too then it's very likely your pc has caught one. Same deal if you notice your homepage is changed to something else or you get randomly redirected to ad sites.

Disclaimer: I don't use nookzon, just giving some generally good advice based on what I'm hearing in this thread.

A friend on the forum recommended ublock and it has been working great for me.

thats so annoying, I get they want to make money but going overboard like that seems a little much. if they are not careful I feel like they are going to lose users because of it.

on a side note I wonder if those types of website ads are even useful, like how many people actually look at a pop up ad and think "wow that product looks cool, I'll buy it" lmao

I don't go on Nookazon at all. But, I was also going to say that I also use uBlock and haven't seen any ads in literally years.

Yeah, I'm gonna throw in another word for ublock. Works very well for getting rid of annoying ads. I have belltree and some other forums whitelisted, but for everyone else, I barely, if ever see a peep of ads.

I always have ublock enabled and just throw a few dollars to the site owners directly in some form if I use the site consistently. Nookazon has done a fair bit of shady behavior through the past year, so I have never seen the ads because I have not bothered to whitelist them.

It looks like uBlock prevents any ads from showing up on Nookazon. It looks like they're trying to make an ad-free version by paying them on Patreon.

Yeah it's really annoying how many ads are spammed literally every 5 seconds lmao. I've never tried the UBlock thing people are mentioning but I just might try it to get rid of them~
