Not receiving notification emails/receiving them hours later.

I'm thinking it's my crummy email (Yahoo), but I'd figure I'd ask just in case anyone else is also having this issue.

Usually, I'll receive like notification emails within minutes, but now, I'm receiving them hours later or not at all. I'll usually receive all notifications a fair bit later, but now they're showing up the same time as the like notifications. I've checked my spam and they're not in there.

My settings are:

Receive Email: Administrators and Other Members
Default Thread Subscription Mode: Instantly, using email
Email Notification of New Private Messages: Receive

I haven't changed anything recently!

My educated guess is that it is Yahoo's fault; I doubt the actual implementation/code/procedures of TBT's back end has anything to do with it since it is very static in nature. There most likely is a Firewall/Spam Filter keeping your e-mails from arriving quicker. Hopefully a staff member can confirm a possible change in that aspect of TBT's back end, but I highly doubt that is the case. Hope this helps answer your problem!

That's what I'm thinking too, I've been meaning to change to Gmail for some time, but there's some important things connected to this one that I don't think I can change...

I suppose I could just keep it in the background for those things and add to the tab madness.

I definitely would recommend switching to Gmail especially because Google has a lot of neat security features for it like 2-Step Verification, One Tap Confirmation (to your phone), and the utilization of the new Titan Key (Google required all employees to use it for about a year or 2 prior to it going public and not a single one of their Google accounts got compromised because of it)! Tab madness... xD With the way computers are these days with RAM, having extra tabs is not as big of an issue as it used to be fortunately.

I use Gmail on my phone, and I think it really depends with sites. I think with TBT I get them fairly quick, but emails with tumblr will come in hours later or not in order.

Alright, I've switched to Gmail and the issue's since cleared up.
My only gripe is that I don't get a colored dot notification as I do with Yahoo when I have new mail.
I've since looked in the settings, and enabled the pop up notifications as that's the next best thing.
