Notifications from groups

Is there a way to get notifications/activity feed from groups? I suppose I could just ad easily check my groups every day to see if someone has replied, but for instance when someone comments on something in a group it doesn't show up on my activity feed like threads do, nor do I get any kind of notification for it.

Maybe they're just not available at all? In that case it kinda makes sense as to why groups are so inactive.
