Today is my 26th birthday. I will be celebrating my birthday today after college is over for the day. I’ll be having cream puffs (not cake), presents, and a birthday dinner at Chili’s. Thanks to all who wished me a happy birthday so far.

This decade has been an interesting decade when it came to my birthdays. Here’s how it went over the past ten years:

  • 2010 - I turned 17. This is the legal age to watch Rated R movies, buy Rated M games, and in some states, the legal age to drive. None of these apply to me, but that is a milestone.
  • 2011 - I turned 18. This is the age of consent, also the legal age for gambling, voting, and activities that I don’t need a parent or guardian to help.
  • 2012 - my last birthday I had a birthday party with people outside my family participating.
  • 2013 - I did more than aging out of the teenage years and aging into the 20’s age group. I turned 20 on Day 13 of February in 2013.
  • 2014 - I turned 21. This is the legal age for drinking and gambling at public casinos. This was the big one for me, even though I hardly celebrated my birthday that year due to recovery from a gastric sleeve.
  • 2015 - my birthday was on Friday the 13th.
  • 2016 - I turned 23, which at the time, was half my mom’s age and one thirds of my grandma’s age. We all had ages with a multiple of 23.
  • 2017 - I turned 24. If one hour was as long as one year, and if a day still had 24 hours at that scale, I would’ve been a day old.
  • 2018 - I turned 25, which means I am a quarter of a century old. My birthday was also on Mardi Gras. Coincidentially, that year was also the year Easter was on April Fools, Ash Wednesday was on Valentine’s Day, and there were two blue moons.
  • 2019 - I turned 26. The sum of all of the numerical values of each letter in my name is also 26.
I don’t think there would be anymore interesting facts about my birthdays in future decades, but this decade was interesting.

Happy bday brooooooo!
Sounds like a fun day planned! I never do anything for my bday, I'll have to change that since I'll be 20 this June.
