This might be slightly off topic; however, considering that Animal Crossing is the only game currently supporting the Wii Speak peripheral, I think it might merit some general discussion.
For those who have sprung to buy it, what do you think of this latest Nintendo innovation?
For my own part, I think of this one as being only slightly better than the GameCube Modem -- which isn't saying much. The GameCube Modem only ever supported a single game, but at least it worked as advertised.
Wii Speak, on the other hand, is an echoy, feedbacky mess. What words I can hear sound as if they are coming from the bottom of a well. The words I can't hear repeat and reverberate three or four times before they fade away.
I am actually shocked that this product made it into production.
I suppose it is possible, that I simply have the thing set up incorrectly. I followed the instructions to the letter, though.
Anyone else? Good experiences? Bad? What do you think?
