Hello all!

edit; I forgot to add my name! I go by ell!

Although I'm not new to the series at all, I am very new to the forums. Truthfully, my primary reason for sign-up is because, now that amiibo card compatibility has been confirmed, it's spurred me into wanting to try again to complete my collection of cards! Even more than that, though, I'd really like to have even more people to enjoy the series with.

I started playing back on the Game Cube, where it was a game even my mom could get into. (Honestly, she was much better at town maintenance than me...) WW never captured my attention quite as much, and I never had City Folk because I was really nomadic during its heyday and didn't have a Wii. I did get pretty hardcore into New Leaf...until I started seeing how amazing everyone's towns were online, and I began to doubt myself and my creativity. I think that's part of why I ended up loving HHD so much - nobody else ever had to see it! Of course, I know that it was optional with NL, but, well...

To the point, my vigor and excitement has been renewed ten fold with New Horizons. I have new friends in real life who want to play with me (a very first!), and I would like to find a space for myself within the community at last, for a series that's been a calming, safe space for me for all these years.

And maybe I'll even get brave enough to share my new New Leaf town, once it's undergone a little more maintenance!

Did anyone else who set NL aside pick it back up again to help distract from the agonizing wait for NH? I feel like it's really helping me!

welcome to the forums! i feel your insecurities about showing off your new leaf town - there are a lot of gorgeous towns out there and my town was never all that good ahah. but at the end of the day, it’s not a competition and if you like your town, then that’s all that matters :]

Welcome to TBT! I agree that it's important to enjoy these games at your own pace.

Welcome! I'm always looking for more people to connect with in game once it launches. Don't really have any hardcore AC fans in my life.

Welcome :)
I've been playing NL again while I wait. I hadn't completed all the rooms in my house, so I'm trying to finish that before NH. Also redoing some pwp's, I had maxed out and some where just placed with no thought or reason.
If you want to play sometime, let me know, always looking to meet new people in game, no one I know irl plays this game :(

I haven't played New Leaf in years. After seeing the direct I was tempted to start a New Leaf Town to help me with the wait but I was like nawww. Then I saw everyone posting all this cute animal crossing content and I felt so out of the loop, and I got a lot of anxiety too. I know it's not a competition but in games like The Sims I'm a terrible builder and I get my houses offline.

->_<- I hope that the new terraforming mechanic in NH is simple enough and if I DO make a mistake I'll be able to go back and correct it. I don't need another switch, so I'm only going to have one town, one save, and I only have one pack of Amiibo Cards and I can't remember how many Amiibo figures i purchase so -shrugs- so while I wait for New Horizons I've been playing other casual games to pass the time. Don't stress too much on making your town in NL look pretty, mainly because I don't think NL players are going to want to play the game anymore after NH is out.

Which is a shame really. The game's going to be so dead after NH is launched. What else are you doing in the mean time to occupy yourself?
