ok, so once I was at my friend's town. We were all in the shop, he had nook n go at the time while I didn't, and when I walk in... I see a rod, but no ordinary rod. It was a silver rod! I immediatly laughed! It was in the afternoon AND THE PERSON WHO LIVES THERE DIDN'T KNOW IT WAS SILVER!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! So I bought it, and let him know that it was a silver rod. ^_^

Silver is like the "middle" item. It has priveledges of the golden, but restrictions of the regular.

Getting them? The rod (and probably the net) you get from the shop.

The shovel u get from "resetti's office" I'm not going into detail on that one, look it up!

The others, idk. I think u get the gold or silver axe once u get the fountain for ur town.

Is it JUST me, or should they strive to make AT LEAST a few Pokemon references with the rods and the fish? Come on - There are three rods in this game now. Neutral, Silver, and Gold. Old, Good, and Super would have been amazing.

Being able to catch Magikarps and Cheep Cheeps would have made this game automatically ten times better.

Of course it it, but they're so dumb to ignore so much potential they have to romantisize loosely hanging core gamers.

Pokemon is Nintendo's biggest grossing franchise by far - it should have SOME reference. I think they referenced it in Wild World when a carp was caught. I'm not sure.

That's another idea. You could store pokemon dolls in your secret pad, which was basically useless, but in a game DESIGNED around the theme, there's no sign of a single Pokemon plush.
