So remember when I was saying Paco De Lucia is the best guitarist ever? Well, he still is, but he has some HUGE, and I mean HUGE, competition coming from a Spanish guitarist called Gerardo Nunez. You could say he's Paco's successor because his pieces are really similar, though I have to say that Nunez's pieces are a lot more melodic. After a few listens, you can start humming them. This goes for practically all of his pieces.
So I wanted to learn two of his pieces... These.

Oh MAAAAAN. Check out the uber-fast scale in the first piece at 4:32ish. Holy smokes. I saw a video of this scale, and man... I can't even keep track of his fingers. As for the second piece, I don't like what he and the pianist did in the beginning with the uber-slow opening, so skip to about 2:30... That's when the REAL piece starts. This is easily the best guitar-piano duet ever, except perhaps for Paco's Zyryab, which also included an oud, an Arabic stringed instrument that sounds like a mix of the mandolin and the Greek bouzouki.
Sadly, I was not able to upload one of Gerardo's best pieces because the CD is currently in my mom's car... So I need to wait until she gets back, rip the CD, and then upload it for you guys. But man, this guy's music pwns so much, it's unbelievable.
