Remember how I told you guys that I couldn't find, for the life of me, someone that plays musical instruments, liking the music I like, AND someone who loves Nintendo? Well, screw that a million times, since this has changed. Apparently, the grandson of one of our neighbors just came back from college on a break, and I found out beforehand that he played the mandolin. I asked his grandfather to tell the grandson to come over once he would come back from college, so I waited...
That was 3 or so weeks ago. Today, while I was studying for an exam, I heard the doorbell ring. I open the door, and see this guy in his early 20s standing, and I realize that it's him. I never met him before since he was always in college, so he came down to my room, and he took out his mandolin; we jammed for around an hour and a half. Then, my brother asked him if he liked - or knew - about Nintendo, and he was like, "Of COURSE I know about Nintendo!". I found out that he has an NES, an SNES, an N64, and a DS, and is planning to get a Wii. Of course, I was really happy that FINALLY, I knew someone who liked the kind of music I do - which means flamenco, brazilian, bands like Muse - and likes the kind of videogames I do.
So what we did was turn on some game tunes performed by some small bands, like the Mario and Zelda Big Band group, and play along; my brother on the xylophone, me and guitar, and him on the mandolin. It was great.
So yeah, woohoo.
