Ok, I'm trying to make hybrids, but it's been a week and nothing. I set them up correctly but...
If someone has extra hybrids and/or tips, please tell me.

quantity.
and luck. but i don't know if in-game luck has any bearing on it, it just takes a long time.
and luck.
did i mention quantity?

i can get about 6/7 in my town over the course of a week or two, but it's really all about luck, and the possibility of a hybrid being made being maxed out (five gardens compared to 1, and so on)

so.. yeah. cover your town with flower patches, and make sure you keep them all watered. that's about it.

So you're saying it just takes time? I see... Thanks for the tips.

put the two kinds of flowers to make the hybrid like 3 flowers on the top row,2 in the middle and 3 on the bottom row.thats a goob set up,water the flowers every day until they make hybrids.for making hybrids use the silver watering can,it was created for breading flowers.also dont use two kinds of flowers(ex:roses and carnations)they dont breed as quikly that way.also when making the grid i told you about, make sureits not near trees or weeds, and that itis the right colors for the breeding.well thats all i know.(thats accually a lotXDDD)

The silver can was actually made to cover more watering spaces than the regular can. Any watering can can be used to breed hybrids.

the way i remember it, you have about 3 random new flowers per day, any of which can become hybrids, on the start of a new day (which is around 6:00 am, i think.)

so, every day, you'll get new flowers, so just be patient and hope for a little luck :)

Time traveling works, but it's very risky and should be done day by day. Be sure to water all your wilted flowers before time traveling.

To clarify:

Watering flowers increases the probability of producing spawns.

The Silver Can was not "created for breading [sic] flowers." The Silver Can's speciality is reviving "dead" Red Turnips.

Only one (not three) flower appears randomly in your town. If any more than one appear in your town it is due to breeding.

Time travelling backwards will not produce spawns. If you have your town always in April, you limit the chances of producing hybrids.
