Does anyone here go back to playing any old Nintendo games they have at times?

For me personally I go back to as early as Pokemon Diamond when I want to try a Nuzlocke Challenge. I also am still making my way through the latter stages of Xenoblade Chronicles 3D (halted due to school though), which I guess is an old game if you look at where the franchise has gone and is going. Other than that I still have a FE: Awakening [Lunatic] [Classic] file from the summer that?s stuck on chapter 14 because I?m stuck in a Paralogue. I?m sure there?s others, but those are the main ones.

Any ones you find yourself playing again? They can be even older than the ones I talked about too. :)

A few days ago, I found my old games (super Mario land, Pok?mon daimond) I played super Mario land but I realized that I was stuck on a very hard level that's why I stopped playing it. I tried to complete that level but that was SO hard lmao. Couldn't complete it so I abandoned it again. :p

This is something I'm very guilty of lol. I definitely get a lot of nostalgia from many Nintendo games, so replaying them every few years is a nice way for me to remember my childhood. I'd say my worst offender for this is the Zelda series. Ocarina of Time was the first game I ever played when I was 5 years old, and since then I've played it countless times, probably more so than any other game. I've memorised the location of every skulltula and heart piece just from playing it again and again, and yet it's still a very pleasurable experience for me to revisit it every few years. It's not even my favourite Zelda game, but it's definitely the most nostalgic for me, along with Majora's Mask (probably my favourite, though definitely played less). Twilight Princess, Wind Waker, Minish Cap and A Link to the Past, are all titles I've revisited several times as well, though not nearly as much as Ocarina. I plan on replaying Breath of the Wild again eventually too, but it's still a bit too fresh in my memory at the moment. I'd love to experience that game for the first time again.

Other series I've done this with, though maybe not to the same extent, are the Metroid and Star Fox series. I've actually had a real hankering to replay the Metroid Prime trilogy lately, it's been 10 years since I last played them. I can't believe where that time has gone. They're some of my most coveted gaming experiences and it was a shocking discovery to me that I haven't revisited them in so long, I really need to get on that. I used to love Star Fox Adventures as a kid too, that's another game I used to play many times over and I wouldn't mind playing it again now for some laughs.

So yes! This is definitely something I love doing even to this day. Nintendo has undoubtedly been a very important part of my childhood and I'm glad to have these relics that I can revisit whenever the desire is there. It's something I've found to be extremely comforting.

I still play very super old zelda games that I have downloaded on my 3ds, like I own the very first zelda game and the 2nd and other super 8 bit zelda games. I do wish I have mario sun shine, i want to play it.

oh and I play the very first mario game too, man its so bad looking.

I often find myself replaying the first 2 Pikmin games. They're some of my favorite games in general, and I've also become really good at them. I might eventually try speedrunning Pikmin 2 whenever I can get another copy (my old one unfortunately broke).

I play Game & Watch Gallery 4 from time to time. It's basically a collection of Game & Watch games with the majority having a 'modern' update. In fact, you can play those games in their original form by going classic mode. Fire, Rainshower, Chef, and Boxing are a few.

I started replaying Majora's Mask 3D and Wild World this Summer, but both are on haitus.

DP is my go to Pokemon game also, even though I'm the first to admit thier slow and have questionable design at places (the honey trees...the regional dex selection...). I wonder how much Platinum goes for now because I'll never let myself delete that file. I also like FRLG a lot and it's the most recent one I've replayed.

I go back to Super Mario World pretty much once a year, Super Metroid fairly regularly too.

The Donkey Kong Country games I'll drop into quite often as well, including the Donkey Kong on Game Boy, the one that starts out as a handheld version of Donkey Kong arcade and quickly becomes something entirely different.

And Fire Emblem. Basically any of the ones I own. I find them highly replayable given the variation of units I can take to each battle.

Mario Party 1-4 when friends are around to drink with.

I like replaying Rare's Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie when I think I've forgotten enough of it to find it challenging again. In recent past, I decided to play more of the other N64 games that I liked as a kid too (Kirby & the Crystal Shards, Yoshi's Story, etc.), but I think I'm moving forward to my favourite Gamecube games soon (Mario Sunshine, Animal Crossing, etc). I'll also play any of the old Super Smash Bros games if someone is up for playing.

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, it was my favorite game before New Leaf.

I find myself constantly playing these:

NES - Kid Icarus, Tecmo Super Bowl, SMB3, Ninja Gaiden
SNES - SMW, Super Metroid, Tecmo Super NBA Basketball, FF3, Chrono Trigger
Gameboy/GBC - Donkey Kong, Link’s Awakening
GBA - Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario 3, Mario Power Tennis, Astro Boy Omega Factor
GameCube - NCAA Football 2004

Bought 99% of these the year they were released. Astro Boy, I got either this year or last year. I go back to nothing on the N64. Still have the system and maybe 5 games, but never play them. 3DS and Switch are still played constantly. Also actively collecting for the DS at the moment.

Sometimes I will be like “I havnt played *insert game here* in a while, let’s try it again!” Or “I’m better at games a bit more, let’s try to beat/complete this part of *insert game here*!

Donkey Kong 64 is a game I've replayed many times (although it's been a few years since the last time), and I enjoy replaying old Mario games (particularly SMB3 and Super Mario World). ActRaiser on SNES is another good one I return to often.

I would add Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, but it's on PlayStation, not Nintendo. :p

I recently got a SNES Classic, so I may be replaying Super Mario World, Castevania IV, and Secret of Mana (among others) soon-ish.

Most Nintendo games I play are pre-Gamecube stuff, so I'm constantly going back to play older games. I always really enjoy playing those old titles, mostly because I really enjoy the old chiptunes of the NES and SNES and the overall gameplay of the N64 and the others, but also because I generally enjoy older stuff.

Any of the Metroid games, Castlevania games, Zelda games, or Mario games.

Any Gamecube, N64, and PS2 games.
