Old player looking for new friends!

Hi everyone! My name is Pearl, and I was reasonably active back when ACNL came out. Like a lot of the people here, I've been patiently waiting for this game well before it was announced, and I'm happy to be back both on TBT and in the Animal Crossing world in general! My island has a flower/cute aesthetic that I'm working towards. My island is in the southern hemisphere, so I'm happy to be that off-season mom-friend!

A little bit about me! I'm an older player (34 on Saturday), who currently works full-time in healthcare. I work with children who have cancer, and while there are times where my job can be very difficult, it can also be both rewarding and humbling. I'm currently working from home due to the pandemic, so I play intermittently throughout the day, whenever I'm on break. Outside of work, I play a lot of FFXIV, and attend a few anime and gaming conventions as an exhibitor. I'm also a huge musical theater nerd, and a very proud cat mom. I like experimenting with my look, but this mostly involves doing adventurous things with my hair. It's been almost every color of the rainbow (I'm currently rocking [very grown out, ffff] pink hair), and I'm currently considering getting an undercut once businesses start to open again.

And in terms of what I do, it can be tough some days, but I don't work as much with the patients unless I'm helping coordinate/volunteer at events. It definitely has its ups and downs, but the kids are really inspirational. What's your favorite musical?

I haven't seen many musicals in person. I saw Phantom of the Opera on a trip to London when I was 13 and Mamma Mia on a trip to NYC in 2012. I also saw Les Mis on tour and I was obsessed with that for a while.

I have a small collection of filmed stage musicals on DVD (mostly Sondheim... Into the Woods, Sunday In The Park With George, and Sweeney Todd) and I LOVE Into the Woods and Sweeney Todd has a great level of dark humor that I feel was missing in the Tim Burton version. (Though I like that too.)

I am so excited that Hamilton is going to be coming to movie theaters next year and Disney+ after that. I can't WAIT! I've never had a chance to see it, but I adore the soundtrack.

Also... Wicked. I've wanted to see what one since 2003.

Mamma Mia is amazing on stage!! i saw the lion king in Edinburgh a few years ago and it was top notch

It was so much fun! I went on a bus trip with my grandmother and a bunch of senior citizens and initially I was bummed because that was the only show I was able to see, but in retrospect, I'm glad I was able while I had the chance as it's no longer on Broadway.

I've always wanted to see TLK on stage too!
