On getting villagers to move

Gwen told me she wanted to move today (not the villager I want to go unfortunately, ugh) so now I want to know if there’s a time travelling trick anyone knows of to get another villager to think about moving?

Tell Gwen not to move out, then TT a week or so and see if someone else wants to move. If not, TT a bit further and check again. It could take ages for a villager to ask to move out, but once they do, if you decline their request to move, someone else will ask relatively quickly until you let someone go.
