Out of curiousity, do you wear one earbud in or both when listening to music? Obviously this pertains to earbuds, but even with headphones, I'd wear them the same way leaving one ear exposed. It gives me a sense of security because I'm not blocking out completely what's happening around me. I never wear headphones, though...
I also think wearing one earbud is efficient to always have music. You can wear one while the other is charging, and switch them out when the one side dies. I think wearing only one earbud is more common now. I can't remember the last time I actually saw someone wearing two at the same time.
I personally wear one earbud at a time, with a strong preference for my left earbud. I have no idea why, but I always use my left earbud first and switch back to it as soon as it's fully charged.
Earbuds in both ears all the way! Much to the chagrin of anyone trying to get in touch with me, as it basically drowns out all other sound for me. It's the best way for me to experience music.
i started only wearing my left earbud after i listening to music while walking outside. i need the other ear to be listening for traffic bc there's no stop or yield sign near one of the crosswalks i frequent
when i'm not on the move i use both earbuds for that stereo sound!
I wear both headphones on since I lose a good part of the song’s dynamics if I don’t unless I’m listening to an ancient song recorded in mono. I also just don’t like how it feels to have one headphone covering one ear while another one is exposed.
I HAD THIS DEBATE WITH MY MOTHER EARLIER BECAUSE MY BROTHER ALWAYS DOES THIS.I was thinking about this and I normally use headphones. If I use earbuds I use both! I get thrown off when its like one on and one off. I know some people do it so then you can hear out the other ear but that's too much for me, I would rather just take my headphones / earbuds off / out and respond then do the half hear thingy.
I very rarely wear both earbuds because I've always been hypervigilant, constantly listening to my surroundings. if I'm wearing both then I can't hear what's going on around me and my parents just walk into my room and catch me off guard (aka scare me), or my mum would yell for me and get upset when I didn't respond. I'm actually getting much better about my hypervigilance, as I've been more apt to set boundaries with my parents and hold them firmly (plus mum isn't home anymore), but at this point it's a habit to wear only one earbud as it gives me a sense of security and awareness.
I don't usually listen to music through my earbuds anyway. It's mostly youtube videos, recordings of people talking, you know. so I don't need that surround sound experience, it's just so I can listen to what's playing.
I wear one at work so I can hear conversations around me, otherwise I prefer to wear both. I wear it in my left ear simply for the fact that I have a daith piercing in my right ear so it sometimes falls out easily
If I’m at home, I’ll have both earbuds in and whatever I’m listening to loud enough to block out any other noise. If I’m in public, I’ll only put one earbud in so that I can still hear everything going on around me.
I don’t like wearing earbuds anywhere but at home since having them on puts my guard down and impacts my ability to be fully aware of my surroundings, neither of which are things I want while in public. I used to listen to music with both earbuds in at school, and I used to have one in whenever I’d go for a walk, but I feel safer when I’m 100% aware of my surroundings and everything/everyone in them when I’m in public, which includes being able to fully hear them, so I prefer to keep my earbuds at home these days.
I don't use earbuds, as I prefer full headphones. I usually have both ears covered but will take one off to listen more closely if I hear something or someone trying to talk to me or whatnot.
Maybe earbud technology has evolved to make them more comfortable since the last pair I used years ago, but I always found that the earbuds made my ears hurt where they rested in the ear. I never have that sort of problem with headphones.
If I'm at my computer, I'm normally using my Hello Kitty headset So there's no way about having one ear on/off, whatever.
However, when I'm out and about, away from my PC, I normally keep both earbuds in. But if it's late and I'm by myself, I typically keep only one in. I want to be aware of my surroundings.
