I watched the horrible 4kids dub when I was a kid, pretty much made a bad impression on the series until I got much older.

I watched a few episodes of the 1st season subbed and of-course None Piece, I really like it, not a fan of it yet, but I enjoy it.

Like spCrossing, I watched the 4kids dub of One Piece when I was a kid but I wasn't crazy about, though. Nowadays I watch One Piece funi dub on Toonami and it's cool. Still not crazy about it, but still.

I really like One Piece (okay, it kind of sucks with 4kids dub, but in Japanese it's awesome). The plot is complex but very well thought through and it has its own unique charm.
Can't really forgive Oda for killing Ace though

i admit...it took awhile to get into it but once i do...i can't get enough....and yes japanese version is always soo much better in any anime

holyshht merry will always hurt me and luffy usopp fight was amazing, i understand where usopp was coming from and it really explained their characters, esp when sanji stopped them at first. im getting goosebumps just thinking about it, water 7/enies lobby arc is forever a top tier. it's gonna drag from there but please hang in there and get to marineford!!! FEEL FREE TO JUST TALK ABOUT EVERYTHING TBH

i could never watch the episodes where luffy and usopp fought..to this day...i watched all episodes like gazillion times each but i can't watch it...it was breaking my heart
then when luffy had to let merry go, i cried so hard my boyfriend had tears in his eyes too (i didn't tell him i saw him cry too lol)

THOUSAND SUNNY-when i win the lottery i will build the Thousand Sunny....OMG

I'm afraid to read too much into this thread or participate too much because my partner and I made a pact to watch the anime only, since he's a slow-as-hell reader and we didn't know how awful Toei was at the time. So, manga spoilers... yeah. I had a certain person's death spoiled for me before I even saw his debut in the show that was fun! (it still wrecked me when I got to it tho omg, I still get teary if I think on it for more than like, 20 seconds at a time lmfao)

I'm a HUGE baby when it comes to One Piece, for real. For those of you that saw the tattoo thread (got buried I think), my anchor tattoo has "We Are" in it for this reason c: idgaf, a lot of the stuff said in One Piece pulled me through a real dark time in my life so people can cry "weeb" all they like, it doesn't bother me. The stuff with Brook and Robin in particular... and ugh, Vivi. And Hancock. And Koala...

:| I won't say much bc I figure there's at least some folks in here who are keeping up with it via the Funimation dub so yeah.

All I have to say is this: I miss pre-timeskip Sanji and I want him back.

Uhm you got me wrong, I already watched all episodes, I can't wait for the new episodes every week c:
You don't know anymore? We once talked about that stuff when I was around to enter the Enies Lobby Arc over half a year ago!
I only didn't watch some of the movies yet because I wanna keep them as "jokers". One Piece is the best medicine for me when I'm down, so when I REALLY feel depressed, I'm gonna use the movies c: I'm really hyped for Strong World and Z.

omg I saw that video too and I was about to cry because it's too beautiful!!!!
I'm gonna go to Japan this year and I was wondering if I could visit this. Need to do research about that!
OMG IF I WERE TO VISIT THIS I'D SERIOUSLY DIE OUT OF HAPPINESS.

Oh and omg yes. It's really heart-breaking. But the hardest was to see Luffy crying when Kuma sent his nakama away... it broke my heart. And of course the extremly sad scenes after Luffy awakens in Amazon Lily ..
regarding Merry, it was so sad too because for example Nami realized how important Merry has become to her and was crying like a baby...

ME TOO; One Piece brought light in my life when it was dark and just thinking of it gives me strength in whatever situation I am. It changed literally my life.
People can call me weeaboo or whatever, I don't care. I will never betray One Piece, it means the world to me.

I like all Strawhats the way they are, but I personally found Sanji after the time-skip super funny c;

I posted this once somewhere else, but I think it fits in here. It kinda explains how One Piece changed me!

I myself also made up my mind to live like Luffy, or at least I give my best to do so.
I can't give up on my dream or have doubts about it anymore, because it would feel like betraying Luffy which I couldn't stand. He kinda changed the meaning behind my life. My "dream" until some time ago was simply to visit Japan, without any real goals. What would I do there? Sightseeing? Meeting their culture? That's all? It somehow had no meaning. But seeing Luffy living his life, I became so much aware of freedom, own choices, worth of life and a place to belong to. Ever since realizing so many things, I made up my mind to go to Japan to feel free, go and do what I want, far away from the place where I lived before, and to find myself a place which I can proudly call my home. My current "home", where my family is, doesn't feel like home. I don't like to return here. I can't really name some reasons, it's just my feeling.

I tried it, but I didn't really like it. I watched the episode about a camel eating a lottery ticket. I don't think it's that great from what I've experienced. I just can't get into it.

I love One Piece. Sad to see so many lump it together as a "never-ending" series. While it is very, very long, it's just the nature of the story. A lot of other Shonen that get that label have no overarching story or so, and could end at any arc, but they keep on expanding them... That's a never-ending series. One Piece is not like that, but it still gets called so. >.>

Oh well. Haters gonna hate. No one has to like the series.

So you watched a spin-off episode about Luffy being a policeman instead of an actual episode relating to the story..

I think you really have to start with the first episodes to be able to get into it^^
