Could the reason AC isn't allowing for cloud saves be because competitions will be online?

Will we be competing against each other for a No1 spot now? (๑?̀ㅁ?́๑)✧︎
I just had a thought and this was what occurred to me...

Will there be new ways of competing etc... It kinda just opens up a whole new world of possibilities ꒰ʘʚʘ๑꒱

in all seriousness, that could be interesting. i wonder if the island tours will have a major overhaul. perhaps we'll get more competitive leaderboards or more mario party-ish minigames where it's a real free for all?

I'm not really one for competing online, I just like a little cosy competition with my villagers but it could probably be fun for other people so I don't mind if they do this. As long as the rewards a nice though hehe ☆
