Only getting 2 hybrids a day

Hiya guys!


I really like breeding hybrids and getting different coloured flowers.

I've set a bunch of lilies and cosmos in a checkerboard pattern.

It doesn't matter how many flowers I water, I only get 2 hybrids the following day!

So far I've been able to breed pink cosmos, orange cosmos and orange lilies, but I only get 2 a day. So it will take ages to get a fair amount of cool coloured flowers

Has anyone gotten more than 2 hybrids from one day to another?

Eh.. that seems pretty normal? They're not definite spawns, they're supposed to be 'rare' or valuable.

I feel like in New Leaf I always got more than 2 a day. Lol
But I may be remembering incorrectly

I got three this morning... maybe it depends on what watering can you use like it did in NL?

I've been using the watering can (that you craft with a flimsy one and a iron ore)

I was feeling like it was a waste of my time to water like 50 flowers to get just 2 hybrids the next day.

with fertilizer and a golden can I would get like 5 I believe

i see what you mean, but also for me part of the fun is watering all of them and seeing which hybrids I get, like rolling dice lol

I've only been getting one or two a day as well and I just assumed I was doing something wrong.

To confirm, hybrid flowers can spawn from any correct combinations, yes? It doesn't matter whether they were a native flower you transplanted, a flower from a mystery island tour, or a flower you grew from seed, as long as they're a valid combo they should eventually spawn a new flower?

i've been getting a max of two a day that i notice. it's possible i've gotten more than that because when i explored the cliffs there were some hybrids i'd never seen before and i'm not sure when they popped up.

The last two days I got three a day whereas today I got 0 even after watering them all it’s just luck

Got ~25 in my town today, but I’ve converted large parts of it to fields & make sure it’s always watered. I don’t think there’s a daily hybrid limit in NH

I got 5 today? I was expecting like 2 or 3 so it must be random.

3 pink wildflowers (in different places), 1 purple windflower, 1 pink tulip.

I counted eight new hybrids today - two orange pansies, two pink mums, two orange roses, one pink cosmos and one orange hyacinth. Getting there!

Anyone know which colours breed a green mum? I randomly got a green mum today but it was surrounded by three other mum colours so I'm not sure which two were the ones that spawned it.

Update: today I got **FIVE** hybrids!

So yeah, you can get more than 2 a day lol.

I think they come from 2 purple mums breeding.
