Sadly, you can't actually sell to Flick on other people's islands.

Yeah, it's a real bummer! I found out trying to sell them on my husband's island one time. You can't actually remove the thread, but you can either re-purpose it by changing it to something else, like just inviting people to come play, or you can lock it.
