Just wondering what everyone on here thinks of people making their posts look a little different from the rest. Like, adding some banner stuff, having a signature outside of their signature, changing the font size or writing in Comic Sans MS.

I think that making your post look pretty, or at least different, may be a good idea for the starting post of a thread, especially if it's something like an art thread, but when in an ordinary post, it's just extra weight that makes the post stand out for no particular reason. Then again... it adds some uniqueness that is usually consistent. Ugh, I'm really in two minds about this.

Someone influence me. Opinions?

If people wanna do their own thing then fine by me but if you type like Red Cat's example, most of the time I will just skip over your post and not even try to read it. Sometimes I can't even be bothered to read tiny black font but if it's a bright colour then good bye

Well I love different fonts because I look at my own post and hug my chest like a proud post mother. "We made it...we made it to have the cleanest and most inspiring text post." The same with others, #RESPECTTOALL... Like you can not deny this font is not beautiful.

different fonts are fine but changing the size to 1 is unnecessary and too hard to read.. but y'all do you

It only bothers me when someone posts in a super light colour that I can barely read. I skip over those in most cases because a lot of the time I browse this site on my phone and highlighting is a pain. Small text doesn't bother me so much though, I think it's kind of funny if used correctly. But an entire post in size 1? Nah.

Ok I just want to add there's a lot of shops and cycling threads in light pink font and I have one thing to say to yall: why

i am only bothered if it's size 1 and in a light colored font
if it's in black size 1 i'll probably read it but if it's a light color i will skip through it

Okay most of my actual threads are at least centered and are very organised and I think if you've done it at least once, then you have to have respect for it, because it takes hours upon hours sometimes.

I don't mind it when people do different text colors or fonts for titles and headings for a shop to make it look more interesting, but the important information should be in a black, easy-to-read font. I've seen shops where all of the text is colored and font sizes are all over the place with random symbols everywhere, and while it may look "cute", it makes the information very difficult to read. If you're actually spending hours formatting text (as opposed to typing stuff), then you're probably putting in a lot of extra effort to make your thread more difficult for people to read. Most of the time, simple is best.

I think it's pretty nice if it's at the beginning of a thread, but in general posting, not so much.

if you want to make your thread look pretty (giveaways, shops, etc) then go ahead. i also don't care that people use different fonts but i won't bother reading if it takes effort to. if you use small text or bright colours i'm not going to bother
i also don't see a point in making general posting pretty but do whatever you want

Fabulous (;

I can't really talk since I used to do it a lot back in the day, unless it's super light pink or yellow I don't really mind.

Post quality rules are still in effect here, guys! I know it's tempting to post one or two words in rainbow comic sans to be silly, but remember to also share your opinion on custom text so your post contributes to the topic!

I'm not too bothered if someone uses colored font, but uber pastel size 1 centered text is quite a pain to read. I'd prefer it if people only used black or another color that's easier on the eyes, but I realize that some folks like the more kawaii vibe of light pink text and who am I to tell them not to use it?
