People are really expecting an AC character

I use Google Alerts on the term "Animal Crossing" and I've noticed that after the Pitfall was announced, a lot of people around the internet are saying that they expect to see an AC character. The first person I saw mention it was talking about how AC would have to be the first game franchise for Brawl with a stage and item(s), but no character. Someone also said, " it seems clearer and clearer that there will be a playable Animal Crossing character in Brawl".

Well, all we can do is hope for the announcement.

I'd personally like an AC character in it, but I really don't see who could be in it at this point...

Don't forget that AC is not a "kid's game". I don't know if that matters for your opinion or not, but look at characters like Peach, who people would never expect to fight! Resetti would fight someone way before Peach if you ask me.

I would love to see just a basic human male AC'er be a chararter, using a shovel, fishing rod, and other tools, to bring the hurt on his challengers.

I'm just always thinking a random Villager or someone, who would be in the game would fight with the D-pad being a style of how'd you fight.

Axe - Basic slash and hacking at people.
Slingshot - Like Link's bow. Can't go out as far.
Shovel - Slow and strong melee attacks.
Fishing rod - Better distance but weaker.

Or something like that. This is just what I imagine what a AC character would fight like.
