There have been more people reporting glitches in the game - like a nameless villager moving in, or not being bale to move items... and, of course, the infamous duplication glitch (though I guess some are happy about that).
I'm only on day 4 but I'd hate to lose all my progress so this has been worrying me.
I remember I was always scared that I'd get some file save error in NL but didn't expect these types of glitches in the new game.

Glitches will happen, Nintendo will fix them if they're reported on enough. But you also need to remember something: This game 'leaked' early, and leaked downloadable copies tend to be buggy at times.

So far these glitches are reported in extremely small cases, which could mean pirated copies, etc.

What do you mean it "leaked" early?
As far as I know, some countries just happened to have it in store earlier while the reviewers were given their copy to test out. But there was an update on March 20 anyway, which should have fixed any earlier issues (if there were any).

Are the glitches related to multiplayer? Seems like the game code can't smoothly handle more than one player at the moment (hence the restrictions imposed upon non-leaders in multiplayer)?

I havent heard any glitch reports but that is worrying. However, I think the majority are unaffected and this time nintendo actually has the ability to patch the game so I wouldnt worry TOO much

Someone put up the game online via download to be used on hacked switches, so people were playing early. These files are the entire game, but sometimes they can act buggy and have glitches regular legitimately obtained games will not have.

The only glitch I've encountered so far is for local coop (2 players, 1 island, 1 Switch). Normally if you click on the Nook Stop machine each day, you get a bonus amount of Nook Miles depending on how many days in a row you clicked on it. If you click on it during coop multiplayer, it seems to reset the day bonus. At least, it did for us once. We have purposely avoided that machine whenever playing coop now, so I'm not sure if it happens every single time or what. I do not want to reset my day count for that again.

I have played a lot of hours since the game came out, and haven't seen disappearing items or anything like that. I also will not do the duplication glitch. I want to play fairly, but also I don't want to risk potentially messing up my game.

I figured this would be the case given the game is going to be updated more regularly and theres such a large increase in the number of players you have can in multiplayer.
Theyll probably fix it in a patch or something I wouldn't be scared of losing your data over it. It's all just stuff like walking into a villagers home when they're gone, getting stuck, the duplication thing

I've actually had my game hardlock on me two days ago. I took a clip, exited the game to post it to twitter, and right when I went back to playing the game froze and the screen turned white shortly after. None of my inputs were registering so I had to turn off my switch. Thankfully my save data was safe. I made a thread about it back when it happened but I don't think it got any replies.

Every game has glitches, this isn’t new. Especially new titles. I’m positive Nintendo will patch this so there’s no need to worry! (╹◡╹)

Oh, I wasn't aware of that actually.
I'd have thought that most people who post to this forum have the legit copy though I could be wrong.

Any other thoughts on this?
Do you think a patch will be coming soon?
