I work until pretty late in the evening, but I love sunny daytime towns! I don?t own a switch as of right now (obviously will get one before the game comes out) but I was wondering if it would make sense to shift the switch?s time back by 4-5 hours so that I could play during the ?day? when I played animal crossing. Do you think they?ll allow us to set our own time at the beginning? I feel like it would be a huge break with precedent not to, but after all the time travel rumors I?m not sure. I don?t plan on time traveling, but I would love to force the time zone back five or so hours just once.

I am really sure that you could do this. I really am hoping they didn't take away the time travel feature just for this alone honestly. I am the same way. And I'm not going to just give up and play during nighttime in the town just because my life is busy. I am pretty sure you could do this -- you're able to change the entire system's time zone so as far as I know, this'll work on the game. I guess to be extra careful you could make sure to do that before even downloading it onto the system! Just to make sure that it's automatically aligned with that time.

If not in the game itself, you can change the clock on your Switch's system. Not even the time zone, but by adjusting the internal clock.

I definitely understand where you're coming from, as I also prefer playing during the daytime in-game, especially for doing my daily tasks and landscaping. Nighttime play is just a bonus for me—the main action is during the day.

I've considered setting my clock back by 1h just to have longer sunlit playtime for exactly that reason, and wouldn't consider it cheating in any way.

I'm going to time travel when I haven't been able to play for whatever reason, just like I've done in every other AC game.

Same!! I’ll get the time zone all set up then from the moment I get my switch lol

I feel preeeeetttyyy confident in the thought that they'll be keeping TT. The Switch is a portable system, It's only natural that there'd be people travelling out-of-state with it, into places with different time-zone and even hemispheres. They'd have to allow you to change the in-game time. I wouldn't be too worried.

I did that in New Leaf, you could just tell Isabelle to change the clock before loading up your town. I'm sure the same thing will be possible in New Horizons, like they're doing seasonal events through updates because they can't prevent time traveling,

Yes you can do this. I’ll probably be changing the time a lot because of work.

I miss the days when I was high school and played animal crossing carefree :(

I just hope that the shops are open 24/7. I doubt there is time travel in this game.

I'm sure there will be time traveling in the game and I don't see why they would just take that out. It doesn't make much sense, because I do understand what people go through. Sometimes people come home late, but they don't want to play at night, so they change the clock back a few hours. I'm pretty sure the game will be set up with the time it is on the Switch itself, so if you want to change it back five hours before you play, then you will be OK to do just that. :)

In the last direct they mentioned that Timmy and Tommy's buying/selling services are available 24/7 in their campsite. Can't speak for any upgraded shops but, at least you'll never have a time that you're unable to sell items. -shrug-

If you don't mind having your switch clock off my five hours, you could just set that time back and not worry about it. That would at least be a doable work around if they don't let us change the time in the game for some reason.
