Petition for more fonts, thread customizations options.

Would be absolutely lovely to have more thread customizations like the animal crossing font, thread borders, more thread titles for journals, etc.

this might sound good but I imagine it would take a lot of website coding and idk if the staff wants to go through that hassle just to add a few cosmetic features

It would be cool. I do imagine though that it would take a lot of coding. Also, if it does happen I think it should only be for specific threads. I don’t know, it just feels like everyone would use different fonts in their thread titles and it’d be very distracting. It would become a case of “I want to draw excessive attention to my thread so more people will see it.” I’m not saying that will happen every time, but it could happen. Still, it’d be distracting to most people with sensitive eyes. Maybe there’d be a way to turn it off so you don’t see all that customization? I just don’t see it happening anyway. It’s a cool idea though.

I'd be down if there was an option to turn it off. Not to be a debby downer but I can only image people using all cool looking fonts that make their everyday posts hard to read. But for the cases of decorating an island journal or something, that would be very cute to decorate using borders or making cute titles.

I feel like the font and thread customizations have the potential of already worsening readability (there are people who type in the smallest font possible while using colors that are hard to read ) and it looks like staff have already responded to a similar thread about semi-permanent text formatting options with a hard no...

I think for island journal decorations, it might be nice though!! but definitely a hard pass for me on general threads. I already have a hard enough time reading small letters and can't imagine trying to read a busy typeface at that size...

Agree with all the people saying stuff like this. Imo it's cool when it's to emphasize tone (like when people use a smaller font for a few words when saying something shyly?? Hope you guys get the idea lol). But when it's the whole post it's just hard to read and I end up just skipping it. I could see myself completely skipping any posts that have mostly decorative or colorful fonts. This would be a cool feature as long as we can turn it off
