Plz pray for my dog!!!

Hey guys. As if 2020 wasn’t bad enough and everyone I know suffered a lot through it. In 2020 I lost my dad to heart attack, my parrot to a stroke , And my dog Morgan to cancer, all in a two month period.
2021 honestly seems like just a continuation called 2020 part 2. I found out the hard way that I had herniated discs in my neck back in April and ended up finally having disc replacement surgery in sept. I lost almost 3 months of work throughout. Right after I finally got to go bk to work part time, My dog Brodie Started acting funny and then stopped eating and my husband and I thought he was just depressed over so much change going on, but we were trying to get him to eat by boiling him chicken and giving him things that he likes and he just wouldn’t eat hardly at all.

We took him to the vet yesterday and found out that he has a lot going on. He’s dehydrated, anemic, is suffering from Ataxia, Which means his nervous system is having trouble and he’s having a hard time with his footing, most of his vital organs are in distress and Showed elevated levels on his blood work. But the two big things are that he has pancreatitis and the doctor said the worst case of hookworms they’ve ever seen. When we brought our other puppy home last April, we Actually used dewormer on both of our dogs the puppy and Brodie, but apparently it did not take and he ended up getting hookworms really really bad to the point where the vet is basically giving him a 50-50 shot at survival right now. He is so so sick, and it’s absolutely breaking our hearts. She sent him home after giving him sub Q fluids with about seven different medications so that we could hopefully restore his health. I don’t ask for prayers very often but if any of y’all pray could you please please please say a prayer for my dog. He is such a big light in our lives and we love him so so much.

oh man, i am so sorry to hear this. i have a sick and injured pet myself right now, so while it might not be the exact same, i understand just how frightening, confusing and devastating it is. i will absolutely pray for brodie, and will be keeping you and your family in my thoughts. my pms are always open if you ever need to vent as well — i may not be able to help, but i’d be glad to listen. hang in there.

Oh man, you guys have been through alot! I'm so sorry you dog is going through so many health issues right now. Definitely praying that he will turn a corner.

Spoiler: story of hope

earlier this year, my cat had an abcess in his tooth that went all the way to his nasal cavity and a severe infection. I thought for sure we were going to lose him after several failed antibiotics, but we finally found the right one and he turned around and is all better and here with us still. I tell you this in hopes that it gives you hope for your sweet Brodie.

Thank Xara and Fox! That means so much! So far today our only real struggle is trying to get him to eat. At the moment we have the dewormer powder mixed with his food and he’s only eaten a little so my hopes is that this appetite stimulant kicks in a little more so that he can at least finish this small plate and get some of these bloodsucking monsters out of his body.

You're doing everything you can, that's for sure. I hope the appetite stimulant works too and that the dewormer powder takes off with a vengeance against those pesky worms. Please keep me posted, I'll be praying for you guys and keeping you in my thoughts! ❤

Reading what you wrote broke my heart. I'm sorry to have read that you are going through such a trivial time in your life. I know how hard it is to go through such. I hear you. I understand you. Sending prayers and hope things get better for your puppers and in your life. I understand myself what your going through, my last ferret had Covid really bad, I didn't know they could get it. She stopped eating, couldn't stop using the bathroom and it got so bad. We had to put her down unfortunately and she had lived 10 wonderful years and it usually their max lifespan as well. A lot of my family also past away this year and middle of last year from cancer mostly. Plus on top of that, my grandma found out that she has bladder cancer. But I'm sending lots of love your way and just hoping things get better and hope your wonderful dog makes a turn around.
